Hey @Vangelus...so there’s this thing called movie edition...which may or may not include all those movie toys from that leak... New Images of Megatron & Brawl Figures Revealed - Transformers News - TFW2005 And as for regret purchases...NECA godzilla series...after I discovered monsterarts they were never the same.
A regretful purchase? How about, MMC Jaegertron? That boy just did not impress. They went through the trouble of making him a freaking locker (adding significant expense), and you still had to just throw his extra head and face gun in there (because it's full of heads that serve as either alternates I didn't want or callbacks to his pack-in comic). Even the transformation and alt-mode weren't satisfying (partly from being designed around the face gun it wasn't designed to store). This thing single handedly stayed my hand on Boreas, whose changes appear to fix a lot of my issues (except the legs, but I always suspected if you trim the kneepads he could straighten up; I guess this miserable toy will serve some use if I change my mind). Silly Vangelus, there is a Death's Head figure, they made him out of this miserable toy.
Regret purchases. I got some cash in some BD cards and decided to try a few RID figures. They just aren't all there and I don't always remember the circumstances I bought them in. I watch the show, it's fine but overall they're just making stuff that makes Voltron look better in comparison.
WRT to Reveal the Shield, I think that's how Classics might've gotten its start in a world without Classics in 06; G1 designs peppered into the end of a long-running movie line that might blossom out into its own thing depending on the success of the movie line.
Dangit, as soon as you described that first wave of classics as Cybertron style toys with G1 characters you sold me on going back and getting a hold of the ones I missed.
I regret buying stuff when there's a lull in classics/generations stuff. I used to hit 3rd party stuff hard during movie years (when the generations lines would go away for a bit). I have since sold almost every 3rd party figure I have ever owned. I also used to get sick of waiting for stuff and I would buy other sub lines for TV shows (like Prime, Animated, whatever). I'm trying to be really good these days and just stick to whatever we call generations these days.
