You don't take exceptions and make those the rule. That's why I said "generally". But more importantly since late last year, there hasn't been one FT release that's of Kickback quality. Whereas KFC gave us Wreck Gar, Simba and then proceeded to Ditka. After some time, once a good process has been put in place, you'll just have to trust it.

No doubt you are being prudent by considering each release separately, but you are being most prudent by waiting for the final release. Can't have it both ways.

 

Yeah, see this is the kind of nonsense I'm not ok with. If you're selling me a pre-order then just tell me you're selling me a damn preorder. Don't tell me it's already shipped so that I'll be expecting it in two weeks when you're not really gonna ship it for another week or two and I need to wait three or four weeks to get it. If they were upfront about it, I probably wouldn't mind so much (though I'd always try to go through a seller that has it in hand because I'm impatient) but when I get a tracking number that still doesn't work 10 days later, I get pissed off. I was expecting that I would probably have it by this weekend but as far as I can tell, it hasn't even shipped yet.
If they can't be upfront about it, because for example Amazon or eBay don't allow selling items you don't already have, then dammit, follow those sites' rules and wait until you have it in hand to sell it!

Not too bothered by testshot reviews or the lack of them.
I've pretty much stopped pre-ordering anything now. Got bitten by dodgy retailers a few times plus other companies releasing "better" options. I was all for FT's Omega at first but I think I'm now leaning towards DX9's. That could have been a costly mistake to make.
I generally wait for the early reviews out of Asia, they arrive in the first few day's, and then I make a call. Things very rarely sell out immediately anymore, and if they do, a 2nd run is almost always available within a couple of months. Or there's always TaoBao.

 

I'll count on one next two weeks. Early Christmas shopping.

In the old days, FT releases were available in the Western markets first.

 

None of the trusted Taobao sellers have it which is strange. Just Baba and one other Chinese Ebay seller.

 

Baba probably has his shipment coming soon so he put it up for order to see how well it would sell.

 

No one has this yet. Chinese are saying they have it but have not received it yet.

 

That was kinda my whole point. No early reviews means no preorder and can sometimes mean having to wait for a reissue or restock. There are good things and bad things about test shot reviews vs final copy reviews. I was merely pointing out why I prefer to see reviews before a product is released.

 

According to robot toy base, they got it in stock. I just placed an order. I'll post pics when i get the parcel.

As has been established by several posts in this thread, a shipping notice doesn't mean he's actually shipped it or that he even has it yet. Until you see actual activity on the tracking number, it probably hasn't actually shipped. Not trying to train on your parade - just manage your expectations.
