Ah yeah, Skids, the most meaningless S2 carbot... Of course I'm in! I'll display him in throne mode.

 

Skids has always had lower legs like that, I'm happy with this.

 

Exactly — both in Diaclone/toy version, and in the animation.
Oh, those bell-bottoms are really taking me back.  

 

I was going to mention the same. Plus, if you move that rear struck part down any lower, you'll lose pose ability and end up with a MP-03 & MP-11 feet. Make the feet bigger and you'll get something that looks like a clown with bell bottoms. I'm not sure their is a better way of improving that area but its not a deal breaker.

 

I'm all for cartoon accuracy, but not on this occasion. Those arms are so low and though I understand that the toy is the same, it just doesn't look right.

As a Toy-based Skids (which is what I prefer), he looks awesome. Hopefully he actually gets released within the next 2 years.

 

I love how the arms aren't just hanging from underneath his chest.

I like the way it came out. If he stands well, I can live with the powerlifting calves.

Scale it properly in car mode and make sure he has the same gloss finish as the official carbots and I might well break my "Takara only for the carbots" rule.

 

Yeah, no.

You can have chunky calves and still not have them look that unfinished. It just looks like they stopped designing when they got to the lower legs, split the back of the car up and said that'll do. It won't for me, I'm not bothered what the original toy did - that also had the poseability of a tree stump and I don't want that replicated slavishly either.

So, looks like I'm waiting on somebody else for this guy. It'll happen one of these decades.

 

I don't remember his lower legs floating above his feet as toy or in the toon in fact I will go as far as saying I don't think there is any media that shows his feet like that.
Great work on the arms really well done

 

Paint is going to be so important on this MP Autobot.

How well XTB pulls this off will be the deciding factor for me. (if they blow it like they did their Trailbreaker, this will be an easy pass)

 

dang! I told myself to go a straight road takara on mps except an mp scaled combiners but this xtb skids and springer is giving me a hard time not to go for an alt route.
