Ahh, I did not know that. I always thought Geewunners were the kids who watched and grew up with the '84 TF and also were aware of Diaclone toys. I learned something new :)

Anyway, yeah, BW is great. One of my favorite MP happens to be Primal.

Nah, you just learned the opinion of someone who puts labels. I am one of the kids that grew up with G1, was aware of Diaclone, and I love beastwars. Simply put, there are those who do hate everything except g1 as much as there are those who hate everything about that isnt the Bayverse. And they both are the same immature people like the guy who posted that who put labels before reality.

    That's partly true.
I think it started with a BW thread. coulda bin yours, especially as your title is a magnet for BW defencers.
The thread got popular, and some of the posters got inspired with other BW topics & questions, leading to more threads.

    Or that! :)

    BW 20th.
Recent BW Generations figures (and reissues.)
    BW getting MPs finally.
Optimus Primal winning the PotP poll.
Optimus Primal consequently getting a new Leader Class figure (well, a Deluxe Primal, and a Leader Optimal Optimus) in PotP.

All of this has spurred on a lot of hope among we BW fans, and likely generated marginally more interest from non-fans or new fans than there might ordinarily be, as well.

I also think we're starting to see more generational cross-over from 80s nostalgia into strong 90s nostalgia, and for Transformers that means BW.

BW threads are always popping up. People like the show, people hate the show. Somewhere in the middle discourse happens. The more BW updates or homages we get, the more attention it brings to the series, and the more discourse happens. Some good, some bad, some belligerent, but discussion nonetheless.

I happily call myself a G1er, the pejorative use be damned. It's not like it's a real term anyway. I'm not bound by anyone's semantics or dialectic. For me, it just means I'm admittedly a fan primarily dedicated to G1. (Which, for me, includes Beast Wars/Machines, in terms of continuity. Same timeline at least. I love G1, BW, BM, and... that's about it.)

I've failed to ever enjoy other subsequent series, try though I might. (And try I have, with near herculean effort lol. I just can't make myself enjoy things that don't resonate with me. Shrug.) I don't bash the things I dislike, though. And I'm not denigrating towards them. Some will hold that this means I'm not a "geewunner," but I choose to use to term anyway personally.
