The full preview of First Strike #6 in newsarama: SCARLETT Leads A HASBRO Army In FIRST STRIKE Finale
Uh Stormshadow, Soundwave, sound attacks can work just fine on things that don\'t have ears. The vibrations can break all kinds of inanimate matter if properly modulated, or just plain loud enough.
Ugh. They made General Colton into a bad guy??? I mean, I guess that’s par for the course for IDW, but seriously, ugh.
It is normal for people to have long winded philosophical debates when in the middle of a knife fight.
Not sure about the rest of you guys but I'm glad this story is coming to an end. Its not doing it for me. Hope normal service resumes after this.
I was really ambivalent about First Strike, for whatever reason nothing about it was jumping out at me so I'd planned on skipping it originally, but I actually think it's turned out pretty decent, much better than Revolution. Glad I gave it a chance now! Very intrigued to see how it ends because surely it won't be as simple as "they stop the bad guys and everyone lives happily ever after until Onyx Prime returns." Well, from our point of view he's a bad guy, I imagine a lot people on IDW Earth would be pretty OK with what he's trying to do considering the planet's prior experiences with the Transformers.
Could be worse. Marvel turned Captain America into a Nazi earlier this year. He's kinda like Batman was in Batman V Superman. You know a well intentioned idiot. In comics and animation? Sure is.
After viewing this, it looks like I've avoided a lot of frustration. I mean Storm Shadow vs Soundwave???! Destro vs Optimus Prime???! How about a hive of Bumblebee's vs Bumblebee then! IDW is becoming a damn laughing stock!
I've got to say, this storyline's not been too bad. I'd even go as far as to call it pretty good. Unlike previous IDW events, I actually feel really invested and can't wait to see how it's going to end. I mean, I'd be happier without these big crossover events. But if we must have them, at least they're interesting.
I think I'll just skip this event much like with Revolution. Does anyone remember a time when comic book stories were stand alone stories that didn't connect with other properties just because?
Farewell Auf Wiedersehen Adieu Adios Good Riddance. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming... ...untill the next big and epic event, of course!
So does this mean they will rename it LAST Strike? I really have to laugh at this battle scene. Apart from Antagony-lady, the rest are just normal, not super powered HUMANS. They should have absolutely no chance against the likes of Soundwave, Arcee and especially Optimus Prime. This is why I feel these crossovers are a bad idea - the Transformers are way, way above the power levels of GI Joe who are just a fancy military group. Oh yeah. And when not everything was tied into a million other franchises Hasbro owns. Will we also get Strech Armstrong and NERF crossovers? I know this brings lot of money for IDW but all it did is make me stop reading everything but Lost Light. I have never been interested in GI Joe or MASK or Action Man, sorry, and never will be. At least with DC you could usually read a Batman comic and not have Green Lantern or Aquaman derail the plot for 20 issues, because they tend to make special books for those crossovers, but here, the main books are full of crossovers too.
For the event it was not too bad story wise and I was not groaning each time I read them. I can do less of these events in all honesty. If you are going have crossovers and where other characters are consistently interacting with each other like the DC comics we can do less fanfare and make just part of life.
These are part and parcel of comics these days. Haywired where you on the old IDW forums? I recognise the name. Hope you are well
Now I remember why stop reading the comments, it's just needles bitching by some and wrongful criticism by others. It like non of you read comics outside of TF or thing the comics were on some Shakespeare-y level before the Revolution event.
That's literally the entire point of this crossover. Colton wasn't trying to win by fighting the Transformers directly because, like he says in the preview, Humanity has never and will never win a fight against them. Yes, depending what comics you're reading.
A few years ago all I read was tf conics. These days I read a lot of marvel too including crossovers and events thatbseem to happen every week lol. Some I enjoyed. Secret empire clone conspiracy were very good. First strike isnt. No one evercsaid the tf comics were on a Shakespearean level prior to this. I enjoyed revolution I'm not particularly enjoying this
