You get accused of doing 9 to 3 though, so technically worse! (I am in the same career so know the pain!)

What do you mean you lesson plan and mark in the evening. Surely there are droids for that.

Crikey, mate, not even the half of it! I actually got torn off a strip YESTERDAY before the tickets were on sale because I couldn't tell the customer which seats were which price as the seating plan was locked, I could just tell her the price ranges. This was apparently "disgusting...utterly disgusting and highly unprofessional" among other acidly-intoned things.

No judgement from me because I know I'd go potty for NIN gig tickets at a decent moderate-sized venue.
Some tips from the trade though, no guarantees but there's definitely a very slim chance of still nabbing tickets.

Firstly Ticketmaster are real shits with smaller venue big name gigs and have form in keeping a stash of tickets that they then release for sale nearer the actual show date (not certain but they have definitely done it before in my experience, case in point we got a shedload of calls a weekend or two before the, to our knowledge, sold out Paul Weller gig a couple of years back when they put 'em up for sale and some canny-but-not-as-canny-as-they-thought folk thought they'd get 'em cheaper from us. Nope, our allocation was LONG gone), so keep one eye on those buggers if you're willing/can afford to pay their rates.

Secondly, returns and markbacks. Returns: when you gotta buy so far in advance sh*t can happen, you can't go you take your tickets back and, at least at my gaff, No Refunds it's a fixed purchase BUT if it's sold out we will agree to try sell on your ticket at the same price to recoup your money. Big names though, people tend to cling on in hope and not bring them in for resale until the fortnight before the show, so try your local venue around that time.
Markbacks: Sale agents/promoters are rarely quick to give their markbacks (seats from their allocations that they haven't sold) to the venues, we've had some shows where we haven't had the seats for release to sale until the show day itself. This is probably the slimmest chance with a massive name BUT a call to the venue over the 2 to 3 days before a show might just pay dividends. They might be awkward single seats a row or two apart even but it ain't tout prices.

    £175 smackers!?! T'were only £166.75 at mine!
Still, I wasn't impressed by the VIP package. A signed programme, "exclusive" VIP card *AND* Lanyard (Woooooo!) and an "Exclusive VIP Tour Gift!" BUT NO MEET & GREET?!
I'd want a selfie with the Star for £66! For £166 every song in the performance better be dedicated to me too!

Lesson plans and marking is a small amount of my time on evenings and weekends... it's sorting the rest of school and staff that takes the time, hence why FT Omega arrived Wednesday and it is still boxed!

Glad I'm not the only one who wouldn't have minded getting Gary Barlow tickets.

His Open Road album helped to get me through a difficult period of my life around 15 years ago. You'll never hear me say a bad word about the man.

Megatooth is awesome but I actually prefer the goofy Hasbro alt-modes for the other two, so as an occasional thing a premium's acceptable. Cheers for stocking.

A few niggles aside, these figures from PE are just wicked. I love how bulky their upper body looks with those meaty shoulders. Picking up the red version tomorrow and will be grabbing the black one when Andy gets it in stock.

    It never ends...

Grotusque was not available at NYCC. It was announced at the TF panel, and then went on sell on the Hasbro online store. There was no Hasbro stand or table at NYCC. Arcee was supposed to be available at the TRU booth at NYCC, but they did not receive the stock from Hasbro in time for the convention.

The original promo for Cloudbursting was a little confuddling for younger me with stupid, sexy Kate Bush dressed as a young boy...

I saw Take That on their first Manchester reunion show. I'm not afraid to say it was an absolutely fucking grand night, and not just cos of being one fella out with a group of 15 incredibly excited women, no sir.
