Put me down for not getting a Grotusque either. I love the look of him, and if he was even £40 I'd be all over him.

Alas, £55 is too rich for my blood and wallet.

Telling that to Convobat was the cute part.
Now I have to talk to Doublecross.

Yeah no barb at Kapow, I would imagine this has probably been a bastard to source and quantities are likely small, but £50 is the most I've ever paid for a Deluxe - Hastak or 3P - and even then that was a sentimental once that will probably never be repeated. £55 means it's beyond what I'm prepared to do.

A shame, I would want him, but £35 was tough enough to swallow. No further.

I can see both sides of the £55 Grotesque thing. Noticed Kapow got a big narky on Facebook when they announced it and immediately folk are kicking off about the price - they've sourced some hard to find stock, and are apparently charging a lot less than ebay (I haven't checked so don't know what those prices are like). Am certain it's a completely fair price in relation to the cost, too, as I completely trust Kapow not to take the piss out of people. At the same time, there's absolutely zero chance I'd buy him at that price, especially as I wasn't a huge fan of TR Doublecross. It is an awful lot for a TR deluxe, so I think the reaction is understandable.

Sorry you've got to let these go mate, but there comes a time when it's the right thing to do.

All I would say though is that I purged my collection on the back of a breakup. And bought it nearly all back a couple of years later! Just be sure it's deffo the right move for you mate x

I don't know how it happened but somehow this went to the UK Sightings thread instead of in here, so here goes try Number 2!

Well, I'll be honest the pit of my stomach opened up looking at that price and I was, well, even a bit queasy during that click but, dammit, he's a grail character up there with Fort Max for me so, fires of damnation, I've gone and slammed my metaphorical money down on the counter because if Grotusque is gonna be £55 at Kapow, usually the fairest prices out of the UK Etailer/Importers, what kind of figures will we see from A. N. Other site or Ebay?!

I blame Brexit, oh, and Her Maj's Royal Bummers, with a side of side-eyeing Hasbro because it really does feel like us Non-US fans might possibly be subsidising that Hascon ticket price! (For clarity I should say the price ticketed on Grotusque at Hascon/HTS not the ticket price of attending Hascon, I doubt they were cheap!)
I was thinking he does seem to have a LOT of paint for a figure released with a bonus Diecast wee head for $24.99. Just how much of the Hascon ticket price may have gone towards lowering that price for the event, hence the jump in the sort-of after(the event)market perhaps?
If this is the way Hasbro Exclusives are going this could be my second and last!
Here we finally have the whiplash of wallet pain in a pleasurable time of TF Plenty, I find myself now praying Hasbro don't do my favourite characters!
Or at least not as Exclusives!

Typically, bundling a Nitro in with him left me 11 quid shy of free postage as well, bah!
OOf! I think I may be waiting out Power of the Primes a bit now!

went with Hasbro for all but Bruticus.

yeah, that's how I feel about MP. I've got MP 10 (cos it's Prime), G2 Bumblebee (cos he's the same colour as a VW that drives around my town) and Exhaust (cos we won't be getting that character again anytime soon :lol ).

Grotusque for £55? No thanks, I'll see what Takara do. I can get Greatshot for a tenner more. ;)

I definitely need to pick up Shrapnel now. The different purples annoy me a bit, but'll be nice to have a full set of Insecticons.

Yeah, that's ok. I mean, I would love to get him but I can't see myself doing that. And in a way, that's great. Because I'm HUGE TR Deluxes lover, really really really, and NOT clicking on "BUY" one hour ago suprised me in a very nice way: I don't collect for the sake of collecting. I still do it for fun.
From time to time -especialy when you spent A LOT in less than a month- it's a very cool reminder.

Also, Galaxy Meteor is here, so that's ok.

Did I say how fun Galaxy Metor is ?

Addendum: Oh yeah in no way I feel like blaming Kapow or anything about that. Not even for a second.

I don't think anyone here is blaming Kapow (hopefully), we're jsylt surprised by the price they have to sell him at.

I'm happy for those who feel okay putting the money down though :)

This grotesque thing is stupid, botcon figures easily ran £60ish for a deluxe so what's the difference?

Botcon figures weren't also sold on the HTS and TRU websites. That's not Kapow's fault at all, but I think there's some annoyance at Hasbro's failure to make them available outside the US for a reasonable price. I know I'd been hoping that that might be one of the benefits of Hasbro taking the conventions in house.

I would really like to buy Grotusque but I don't think I can at that price. A shame though. I would love to have had one, shucks. I hope some cheaper stock finds it's way over....

    if it helps

    1) Yes it's too expensive

    2) can't help it

    3) Takara have it on the cards for later on so it'll likely be about £28 - £35 depending on what our political overlords are doing at the time.

    I don't like it myself but I think that's because I wasn't a fan of Twinferno.

This thread has been totally cool, other social media not so much, I'm sure some of them scan and read this but it doesn't half get tiring when people who don't even use Kapow chime in and have to be jerks about things, my company isn't perfect by any means but getting mounds of crap every time somethings not the cheapest does get old :)  can you imagine strangers constantly telling you you're doing a shit job in your 9 to 5 ? blimey squire it would be terrible! :)
