It depends on what you want... But personally I would recommend the set if you want a beautiful display piece with great posability. As a combiner toy Havoc might be a bit "fragile" but I don't regret buying two sets... They are gorgeous in all of their 3 modes.

Ugh, that sucks. Mine was missing the elbow clip. Luckily TFSource sent me another one a month after I purchased (I didn't get to play with him till a month after I bought him).

Yeah, if I were to guess, the bottom of the shin stabilizer things weren't rounded like they were in the instructions to match the ankle so they're too far up bc they won't slide fully down. That leads to the male connectors to be too high. So I just took a nail clipper to cut some of the connector off. Works fine now.

    I'll preface with:
    1. I have a bias for the Stunticons
    2. I don't really care for 3rd party anymore

So, I love this set. I bought two of each actually. Worth every penny. Some minor gripes, but look fantastic.

hello@ all: thank you for your friendly replies :)
i do try to answer as good as i can and describe my own opinion.
    hello friendross:
yes, with fresh eyes this set is of course an amazing product, if you own nothing else than a G1 optimus, like me :)

i do agree, by displaying all figures separetely, you"ll get much more posibillities.
especially in robot-mode you can display them in very much poses, like:
group-modes, battle-poses, tactical formations and so on, which really rocks.
(it strikes me, right now, that we are just talking about puppets for boys, LoooL :D  ).

and also - yes: this highly complex toy trains your mental and fine-motorik-skills wich cant"t be bad for olde boys like me (40+) ;)

so, at the moment i do NOT plan, in short-range, to buy another transformer,
because it seems that i will be engaged with havoc for a long long while.
as first i want to master it before i do buy another one, if ever.
at the moment, after tranformed him 2-3 times (got them complete since 4 weeks +/-), it still takes me 3 to 4 hours to perform all nearly 500+/- steps/gestures correctly.
also i do still need the instructions / review-videos for help, sometimes ;)
it is, like i sayed before, a real puzzle-box, and i am quiet happy to aquired this item, wich will entertain me for a long while, if i can spend time to employ with it, wich is rare.

of course i have some other transformers, in my inner circle of interrest, who do entertaining me somehow, while watching them in youtube-reviews :)
but they do not motivate me to open my purse again...
havoc is still that complete set wich fits all my requirements.

nevertheless, because you asking to it, some honorable mentions
(in order i like them at most):
    Gravity Builder, Generation Toy (Devastator)
    Detective, Wei Jiang (Hound).
    Susanoo, DNA

in general: the more gestures to transform the better. the more complex the better.
with pleasure combiners! because i"ll simply get more transforming-action (not a must!) ;)
also, as requirement, if i spend that much money, i do expect a superb boxing like havoc, wich is hard to top.

    so long,

    cu :)

hi biomec: you are welcome :)

hello, shadow of silver: i like boxes very much :)  i do really enjoy to unbox something. it is like a ritual to me and a big part of the joy. of course the tastes are different.
    cu :)

    @EndoSickness:
hello. thank you (and all), still for suffer to my crappy english :)
it took me a couple of hours to write this post down...puhhhh - edit-war...sweat... :)

so, i"ve nothing more to tell.
if my little three-post-input enriched the tf-scene: okay :D
    i am happy.

    cu :)

Did I miss the part in this thread about how I am supposed to use these replacement parts? I see how the larger chin pieces come off with the 5 screws, but I'm unclear on what I'm supposed to do with the rest of the parts.

One is for Revolt in arm mode, each replacement shins come in two pieces to allow transformation and also thicken the ankle to improve stiffness.

Thanks. But how do I put them in? In scanning back a few pages, it looks like the replacement parts don't even fit right and need to be altered to work correctly.

Are there any videos showing installation?

Not for now.... But Overturn comes with instructions! It seems that you need to trim the peg that goes in the clip on Disorder and Carnage

I think that may be the case for many collectors, but I can imagine some collectors who also value stability/pose-ability — for photography or other play patterns.

I, for example, won't touch with a 10 feet pole a $500 bot that isn't stable. Not only I want to play and pose it, I would also live in fear that it could topple any moment.

It goes to the old adage, "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link." It doesn't matter how cool a figure or a combiner is -- if the ankles don't hold, then I'm way less interested.
And that's kind of depressing, when you think about it, because there's so much about Havok that is awesome.

Didn´t you get instructions? Everything is in there. The small U-Piece goes around Dragstrip´s arm connection, the bigger parts get the smaller grey in them as sliders and this assembly altogether you screw back on Havoc´s skeleton legs.

Yeah it's the worse thing, a good figure with a single fatal flaw always leaves me with lots of regrets of what could it have been.

I would absolutely not recommend this unless you're either

    1. Okay with having him unstable in any position other than museum pose.
    2. Love the bot and alt modes and have no intention of using combined mode.

For me, spending nearly half a grand for such limited use isn't worth.

    Limited use, huh? Funny:

I always find it funny how people do not fiddle with their stuff and have unrealistic opinions.
This is an inanimate object. If you have a well balanced figure that stands a running pose, you´re lucky. Finding the center of gravity isn´t exactly rocket science, but doing it for action figures, with all the moving parts is another topic.

I fiddled big time with him, unpegged the feet, or the thighs too and if you balance him he can do MANY poses.

I´m doing my review shortly, look out for those "limited" poses.
    :lolol

You didn't read my post. I said it was unstable in any other pose. Yes, you can get him in other poses but it's a huge pain and he becomes incredibly unstable while in other poses. Of course you can get him posed for a picture but getting him there is a giant pain and hoping he'll stay there long term is a pipe dream in most collections.

If you're going to quote me, please respond to what I actually say.

I did, but maybe you didn´t read mine.
You just have an unrealistic opinion and you talked about limted poses.
Even humans are unstable in any other position than if both of their feet are on the ground.
There is NOT ONE figure that actually stands stable once you put them in any other position.
This paddles back to my argument of inanimate objects.
So what you´re saying WAS absolutely clear, Captain Obvious, but with most quotes:
One answers if it resonates and with me...unrealistic opinion always triggers a response.

Has anybody has had issue connecting Carnage to the leg? I have applied force and still I cannot get him to connect with the leg.

It was tough, but did you have to shave/cut the top of the long peg? I had to, after that it was easier.
