    Right?!

And that was RID, it's not like the character required him to refer back to Headmasters. Then again, he likely is referring to G1, since Prime Wars takes place in that universe... but in that case it would be Spike and not Emissary at all! Who the hell is he referring to??! Yes, you accidentally win, DeSanto, no G1 Emissary has ever been in Transformers animation... because there never was a G1 Emissary.

On a similar note, on TFWiki, all of the Pretenders are listed as never having been represented in Transformers animation (!). Um, SG Masterforce anyone?

Beechen does good work, I enjoyed his work on the Batman Beyond comic. I'd like to see this series. Love that Peter Cullen and Judd Nelson are in the fold.

In all objectivity, Hasbro not giving a flying poo how fans have felt has paid off at least once in the past: Beast Wars. If I recall correctly, Beast Wars did well, was critically acclaimed, and is looked upon as a big step up from G1, elevating plot and characterization to the next level. In addition, the toys introduced innovating engineering, took full advantage of ball joints and overall tried a lot of new and exciting things gimmick-wise.

That being said, I was firmly in the TRUKK NOT MUNKY camp for a long, long time. Hated Beast Wars and thought that Beast Machines was a pile of donkey poop.

I still don't like Beast Machines, but I can at least acknowledge that if not for Hasbro not giving a crap with what "fans" wanted, we wouldn't have gotten TF:A and/or Prime later on down the line - both substantially more sophisticated than G1 and considerably enjoyable. I'd say BW (and even BM) at least attempted a gravitas and maturity that shows that kids and fans can handle and want complex, well written Transformers stories.

In that vein, I agree - many fans want the fandom to thrive and want it to grow. I like to think that I'm one of those people. However, there are a notable number of people that want Hasbro to make stuff that amuses them under the pretense that their tastes are superior and that anyone that disagrees with them is an ignorant dummy. Is that a desire for "personal pandering"? I dunno, but it sure as heck happens.

Not saying YoungPrime (or anyone else in this thread) is this way - just that those people exist and as a result it's easy to have a knee jerk reaction when someone claims that Hasbro "doesn't have a clue" or coughs up the usual litany of comments or complaints that we make when commenting on the soulless toy megacorporation that happens to own Transformers. That heavy sigh and eyeroll when the company "just doesn't get it" is the worn battle cry of the neckbeard geek in the basement regardless who it's from, even if it's truly warranted. :p  Then the argument sparks and we all look like doofuses.

Anyways, bottom line is - I would totally love a Transformers show that actually sought some level of complexity Game of Thrones had, but it'd probably be a heck of a lot shorter as it wouldn't have a cavalcade of boobs, incest, and rape to fall back on to put in its filler episodes.

W-what? The people you're coming out to bat for do the exact thing you're accusing me of doing, which is in fact what I was mocking, shitting on everything that's different. Just because it's not what one person wants, typically G1, but it's be just as stupid coming from a Beast Wars, UT of whatever else fan. These people you're talking about want transformers to be completely stagnant, they won't admit it, but they do, they want to it to stay in 1984 ideally, but they'll accepted anything up until 1995, after that they do exactly that to the point that they're a laughing stock within the fandom let alone in the general community. "Maybe, if for once, Hasbro and newer fans stopped antagonizing them, it would be for the best. Maybe, let's try that once and see how it goes. And I don't mean by dropping a nostalgic toy here or a mobile game there to shut them up." They kinda do, ever heard of, Dreamwave, IDW, Regeneration one, Hearts of steel, Classics, Generations, Masterpiece, Henkei, United, Legends, The Prime Wars trilogy, Animated, War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, Exodus or Exiles?

I think it's just him not knowing, and Hasbro not bothering to correct it.

Interesting, thanks man. Although, that's the general entry to the Transformer class/sort: Pretender. All 6 of the SGM characters' individual entries explicitly state that they've never been represented in animation.

...........How in the blue hell is comparing one of the greatest book series and shows on Premium Television to TF characters that were mostly made over a decade before George R. R. Martin released his 1st Song of Fire and Ice book asking Hasbro to pander to me personally???

Me and Transboticon may not agree on Prime but we clearly agree that Machinima's CW was trash and that GOT is a great show. Sooooo, I simply thought I'd change the tone of the discussion and here you come trying to stir up more crap! All @Jumacas did was call you out on being too dim to notice what was transpiring.

Yeah but the reason that comparison was chosen is because it's so absurdly obvious, that no, a children's toy marketing show is not one of the best shows ever made, how odd.
I saw exactly what was going on, but saying that Hasbro, can't write because they had a show that was generally beloved and successful made because it wasn't for you is a bit, well silly.

You claim to know what's going on and yet instead of moving on you're still emotional about my opinion on Prime...

I'm bringing it back to that because that's what my original reply was about, but yeah, staying on topic = bitterness apparently, but you know, just declare victory, that always works.

Nothing wrong with you not liking it, I just thought your characterization of the whole TF prime autobot cast as "mary sues" was totally inaccurate.

As always its best to amicably agree to disagree.

Whether or not you think TF Prime was as great as I do, we both do agree the Machinima stuff is quite a disappointing step down, now being relegated to amateur level cg animation on an app hardly anyone has instead of being on TV, and done with a bigger budget and better writing talent.

Then Id probably love it as it had many aspects that had potential to be cool to watch!

Maybe it's a subjective artistic thing, as in the Wiki's official stance is that no animation has ever truly captured their essence. :D

However, if you wanna split hairs (and what good TF fan doesn't do that!?), it appears that the wiki considers the SGMF pretenders to somehow be separate entities from the US G1 pretenders. So if you go to the individual entries for the Japanese renames of guys like Landmine, Iguanis, etc., you'll see that their entries in SGMF are recorded.

That's what happens when you animate a show with 12 frames per second. Does Hasbro not have any movie money left?

You said it. I also don't like those people that do the things I don't like. I hear they're from that place. It's terrible.
