Doom confirmed to have optional MOTION CONTROL for those of you who wanted it! :D

    Look at at 2:51
ETA: video removed unfortunately, but it was there! :p  It was a setting in the options menu for the game.

Any mention of what type of motion control? Like gyro aiming or the full on craptastic wii motion control stuff?

No, but since they were playing in handheld mode, presumably gyro.

Gyro control by itself is kinda crap for aiming. You basically have a choice between fast but extremely wobbly aim, or accurate but very slow aim. If you want speed and precision, then it has to be paired with either a stick or optical tracking. That way you can quickly point in the right general direction and then use the gyro control for finer aim. For something like Doom, optional support for the optical sensor should be an obvious benefit.

The more options the better. Sadly, all I saw was a tick box for Motion Control on or off.

That's not promising, but they could just make it depend on the controller style you've already got set up. Optical would only need to be enabled if you're using two joycons without a grip, and there's no need to disable the right stick either way.

The update also mentions the ability to transfer game save data. Anyone try this yet?

Would like to think about getting a new game for my Switch. Is there any good ones you guys can recommend or any hot ones coming around Christmas?

Edit: OR how would you recommend Sonic Force?

Officially one week 'til Mario Odyssey! :D

Alas I haven't tested save transfers yet. One of the downfalls of not being a particularly social gamer lol.

So, here's something weird: Fire Emblem Warriors came out today, and I went to Target hoping they might have the amiibo for 'em. Not only did they not, but they didn't even have the freakin' game for Switch or N3DS. I wouldn't be able to get it if I could (don't have either system), but I thought it was baffling that they didn't have a new Nintendo game.

They had a Link Nendoroid for some reason, though.

Some Targets do that. Mine did not get the MGS HD collection for a while.

Its been years since this happened to me at Walmart/Target, but when it did, they just didn't get their stock in till the afternoon.

I don't even bother with new releases at my local TrU. They just never seem to get most games on release day.

    My 2017 Buy List:
    Mario/Rabbids
    Mario Odyssey
    Maybe Xenoblade

    My 2018 Buy List:
    Dragon Quest Builders
    Maybe Radiant Historia

    My Wishlist
    Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

Too many games, not enough time. I only got Zelda for the Switch. Once that's complete I'll move on to Mario/Rabbids.

So guys, is NBA 2K18 worth it for Switch? I need a sports game to play, but that update is off-putting.

Though I suck bad right now Im enjoying it. I'm just playing single games so I can learn the game better. Once I get the hang of it I'll try the MyTeam (or whatever it's called).

As for online. Not sure how it is. I hardly play online anyways.

I'm probably only gonna pick up Mario Odyssey and DOOM for Switch games for the rest of this year, maybe some indies that pop outta the woodworks too. 2018 though could be pretty nuts depending on what actually ends up coming out (Kirby, Yoshi, possibly SMT V/Metroid Prime/Pokémon/etc.).

Oh, also, looks like Limited Run Games has partnered up with Nintendo finally! (no plans for Xbox partnership however)

So I’ve been playing Zelda. Keep getting slaughtered by the Centaur thing trying to collect my Electric Arrows. So I ran. Figured I’ll go exploring West of the Plateau. Been dying a bunch, haha. So I decided to buy me a puzzle game. Been playing Picross ever since!

Oh, the game I’m looking forward to next year? The next No More Heroes. Got the first two on the Wii, and I enjoyed them.
