And my Part A came with two identical copies of the instruction booklet with card. I forgot to post this last week.

 

there is only one instruction pack. the directions that came with A have both sets directions. B comes without any pack ins a



i stumbled onto the keeps falling back mode last night... something between the weight of the arms, the moving butterfly hip joint, and the feet positioning, there is a combination of the three (with maybe a 4th) where the thing falls back. there is definitely times where straight kneed he stands tall, and others where straight knee'd he falls back. Arm positioning seems to be the biggest influencer of stability.

My two instructions were both for Bot to Alt.

Luckily it wasn't too complicated to follow.

Sooo... Why is the part a & b set $10 more than buying them separately on bbts? I thought that usually works the other way around. My only other assumption is that price is a placeholder price?

 

Ugh, well I guess FedEx Smartpost is going to make good on their delivery estimate of the 20th, what's one more day I suppose.

 

Does anyone have a Ikea Besta shelf to display Omega? The dimensions for the besta is 25 1/4 and from BBTS site, Omega is 24.8 so it should fit, but I just want to see what he looks like in one.

 

It's a bit baffling that FT wouldn't include robot mode assembly instructions.

Thanks for posting. dalianjj confirmed that Part B doesn't come with its own set of instructions. What an odd decision.

 

Cost and time saving i imagine, no-one gonna be buying a set of legs on their own, so by keeping the instructions for set A only its 1 print run, and only 1 lot of packing at the factory.

 

He doesn't fit if standing straight up also he's actually 26 and 1/8" not 24.8

That's not it, though. It's the fact that there are no instructions for robot mode assembly. The instructions that come with Part A are for the base mode only. Logically, I thought that the instructions for robot mode would be included with Part B. And then I found out that such instructions don't even exist. That's the baffling part.

 

With the tank coming in alt mode it would have been the better choice I feel to have the instructions showing alt to bot, but there are instructions for doing it the opposite way, and as its an easy process so I don't think it matters overall.

 

I started watching a TCP video review late lastnight and it looks like the robot mode is pretty straightforward. It helps that all components are configured mostly for robot mode. Still, some guidance throughout that process from FT themselves would've been nice.

 

Sorry to hear all this, I hope they all come in this week for you. I'll post a few more pics to help pass the time. I'm doing base mode on Saturday!

i have enjoyed getting home from work, picking him up off the case and wooshing him upstairs to sit out in all his glory... then at night tucking him back into his spot

 

Pre-ordered the blue guardian repaint of this guy. Still waiting on part b.
