Perfectly said. I was actually surprised at how much heat you got from your leak post. Some of it was funny to be hones, but then those asking if you actually complained and why... like, wtf?

Why is it so wrong? since when are we supposed to simply live with issues because "X" brand makes it?

MP -36 has paint issues (some retailers actually warned you of it). It does. They will develop if you transform it. That's why I bought 2. You can argue, why buy something that has issues? and my answer will be "show me a better Megatron". Is that justifying? Maybe. But I believe the good on MP 36 outweighs the hell out of the bad.

Even the #1 FT Fanboy on the history of the earth Bobby Skullface says it. MP 36 is the truth. But with TG, it simply seems like they just wanted to put it out before DX and that's why they did it the way they did it. It is still a magnificent figure, but please take the blinds off and realize it has issues.

 

Looks great so far. Would be more tempted by blue guardian repaint (having already purchased TG)...here is hoping one of those is made.

 

I think these guys absolutely shot themselves in the foot by trying to go toe to toe with FT on this figure. If they were going to try and sabotage FT, which they did to some extent (FT price reduction) but not in the way I'm sure they would have liked, they should have had the product ready to go, more or less after the first reveal, instead they showed their hand too early when they had nothing to put out.

Who the hell is going to buy their goods now? FT's is out at a discounted price thanks to DX-9, they've teased their guardian robot, they also have more of a reputation and a stronger following than DX-9. DX-9 have made huge leaps and bounds recently, their Powerglide and Stunticons look amazing but let's call a spade a spade, they generally tend to make placeholders for placeholders. How many times have you seen a DX-9 figure released and someone says; "I'll wait for FT to make it!" or they buy it patiently waiting to replace it with FT's which in turn will most likely be ultimately replaced by TT's? Countless times, more than I can count!

*I said generally, not everyone... as I know there is going to be that one idiot who comes in here and says; "Well I really, really, really, really, really love my DX-9 figure, so it's not everybody, Trollware5 (or whatever the kids are calling me these days)!" in his PeWee Herman voice*

They picked the wrong fight and it will cost them dearly.

 

Does Dx9 do repaints of their MPish line? I've only bought Mightron and Ricftophen. No repaints there.

 

Wow the timing on your comment is incredible. You've literally just proven what Pred above was saying to be completely true   So many FT fans live in a bubble of brand loyalty and develop these alternate realities in their minds perceiving every other company automatically as a threat or inferior by default.

 

No idea, to be honest. None spring to mind, but then again it seems like they are taking a more toon/scale centric approach lately with this guy, Richthofen, and the early renders of their Stunticons, so who can say what their plans are.

True. Had they actually released Gabriel before FT, they would have hurt them. As it is, people will still buy it, but FT has already made their $$$.

Some of these Chinese 3P companies business decisions are truly perplexing. I get that if TT were to announce a real MP Omega Tomorrow, ebay would be Termimus dump site, because, you know TT (and here come the usual dudes that live in a bubble stating that's not true. It is true.)

But DX, you are not TT. Like my good man Malware says, you shot yourselves in the dick. I mean, the foot.

 

If you feel that people were slamming you over sharing your experiences with a faulty toy- take it as a lesson. Some online toy fans are immature, reactive, thoughtless buzzing hornets, and they will take every opportunity to deconstruct and harass you for anything you share. Pay them no mind, and add them to your ignore list. As long as the toy itself is not defective, you'll just have to keep some tissues on hand until the excess is gone. Have you experienced this with any other FT products?

As part of the drooling horde of mindless FT zombies, I for one cannot wait for Dx9! The list of nitpicky benefits is growing!

Eh, I'll take this bait.

DX9 is still $70 cheaper and there are plenty of folks (myself included) who look at T/G's birthing hips, gappy knees, overly human face and lanky proportions and don't see anything close to a definitive Omega Supreme. I would have begrudgingly accepted those issues, had DX9 not done their reveal when they did. As it stands, I've never cancelled a preorder so quickly.

And really, looks were the issue all along with DX9. They made well-built products that didn't always have the slavish G1 accuracy that people wanted them to have. Now? People in the Richthofen thread aren't buying him as a F/T or TT placeholder. Why would Gabriel be any different?

 

Well, people like me are still waiting for DX9 shows the real product, before making a decision. I don't have a strong feeling toward either side. (I mean both are good so far).

And honestly, I felt kind of happy that I waited, not because of the recent pictures from DX9's version, actually because of the user reviews for FT version. I already read quite a few issues on FT's TG, like too heavy backpack, backpack couldn't close, knees is not strong enough so it can only stand by the wall.

Mostly of these I read from Chinese forum like Baidu. Check these 2 posts, they have gif shows their FT version's issue.

I think DX9 achieved his first goal and reduced FT profit, now they need to prove that Gabriel is better than Terminus Giganticus.

 

Ok. So I've preordered guardian colors TH bit still waiting to pick my "official" Omega Supreme.

Honestly, the announced FT repaint had me leaning even more towards this version because if I'm going to double dip on a super expensive bot why not get two molds put of it?

 

I think some people were giving you a hard time because they felt the topic didn't need a separate thread and just could have been addressed within the TG thread since this hasn't been identified as a widespread issue with all FT figures (because, you know, you were forcing them to participate in your thread  ). But I agree you were getting a lot of unnecessarily douchey responses, and I'll never understand why people feel the need to tell others what they should/shouldn't complain about regarding their own purchases.

As for Gabriel vs TG, I'm probably not getting either, but I'm waiting until Gabriel is out in the wild before I make a decision. But FT and DX9 are two of my personal top 3 3P companies, so I really feel like you can't go wrong with either. Both make quality products, and the designs are pretty close to each other.

 

I love my ft phoenix, but im getting dx9's omega. I think it looks better but everyone has a different opinion.
