Well, yeah, but for the purposes of the current narrative, that's what makes Getaway "worse" than Megatron. The point is that it's not important who you were or who you might be, it's who you are now that matters. Megatron is full of remorse for his past atrocities, while Getaway is wholly unrepentant for his own current atrocities. Whether or not he might end up feeling bad about his actions is irrelevant.

I thought it was a pretty decent read. Definitely looking forward to the rest of this arc.

I like the way that Roberts set it up so we are confused the fuck out. The whole time-loop thing is confusing me. Especially with what happened to Thunderclash. Is he really in a time loop or is he just offline under Getaways orders?

Either way i do think that LL is getting to where it has to be. I cant wait till rodimus sees getaway. and the other way around. Cause the mutineers think that Rodimus and co. are dead right?

 

Also, who is the warren?

 

If think about the memory loops wouldn't Mirage and the Proctectorbots are in sick bay comatose. Getaway basically trapped them in their own minds.

 

Most likely 'what'. A warren is a name for a place where lots of burrowing animals like rabbits live.

I wasn't implying a waste of precious story pages. I felt the story was fully told within the pages of original material, that's kind of the problem. The additional pages were redundant and excessive. A single panel could easily cross the link, rather than 23 repeated panels. Can't remember the beginning or the preview? Go to the front of the book. Why waste (additional) pages with content that won't be read?

Only a minor quibble in an interesting issue.

 

What would lead you to think he was offline? What would the point be in Getaway lying, if the entire thing was just to set up what was actually happening to the Protectobots. It's clearly his SOP when dealing with people who disagree with his leadership. There's no reason right now to second guess that.

 

Maybe? I dunno, I feel like repeating the bit where Getaway welcomes them was kind of necessary to properly establish what was going on - specifically, that the Protectobots lose their memories at the start of each loop. Otherwise people might think "wait, but then if they get dragged back on why don't they immediately tell Getaway to fuck off".

 

Unlike some, I've never lost faith or enjoyment of this book, but I do agree that this issue was especially good.

There's definitely multiple layers to the conspiracy/mutiny here. Getaway and Atomizer clearly represent the innermost tier of it. You've got Riptide/Mainframe/the people we saw in issue 50, in a layer slightly removed from that, and a further outer layers with the rest of the crew. And then people like Thunerclash and the rest of the missing crew. Add in the fact that Getaway has his nudge gun, and it's hard to know who really knows what and who to trust.

And on the subject of Getaway... He's been planning something of this sort far longer than Megatron being installed as co-captain. Pretty much from the moment he laid eyes on the Rod Pod, he's been planning to unseat Rodimus from his own ship and crew. So yeah, he's not a good person. Getting rid of Megatron is one thing, but getting rid of Rodimus from his own ship just because you don't like him...?

 

And they wouldn't get additional pages for NEW content. It's 20 pages plus three repeats. They're not wasting those pages, they wouldn't exist as any "new" pages otherwise...
