Yes, it's actually the rear windscreen. Was mistaken earlier because I saw clear pieces on the forearms near the "Police" door pieces and immediately assumed that they were the windows. Totally forgot that the windows on the back were a signature part of Barricade's design.
I found some similarities between mpm5 an HA transformation should be similar but with some extra tricks (like all mpms)
I know, all I'm sayin is that it draws some inspiration from HA, and the other two also draw some inspiration from figures before (Mpm prime - rotf prime)(mpm bee- literally any movie bee toy)
OMGOMGOMGOMG ALL OF MY YES! ALL OF MY YES!!! Both my MPM03 and MPM04 have perfect quality and are amazing and a joy to transform and pose and play with. I can't speak highly enough of them. Yes. Sweet, thanks! The arms are a little big, but my god what a beautiful figure this guy is! I CAN'T WAIT!!! WHY ISN'T IT MARCH YET!?!?!?
The chest is fake ... you can't transform the hood of that car into what the movie's design without faking it. I can't tell if they used the same grill but I would suspect they wouldn't. It looks like you rotate the front to switch between the robot chest and the car hood in order to hide the car ramming thing attached. The front bumper is the same on the car mode and robot mode. The car mode headlights are on the top of his shoulders and the robot mode headlights are formed by two faux parts that are revealed during transformation; while the rest of the front sides of the car fold up around the front tires. The MPM has a very similar transformation scheme as the HA Barricade when it comes to the arms as the side of the car starting from the front is the shoulder of the arm and the rear of the car is the forearm and hands of the robot mode. The rear windshield folds in and become the inner forearms. The doors pop out a bit and rotate 180 to cover the hole where the rear tires go and also to have the Police label align properly. The car and passenger windows become the "wings" on his back shoulders. And it looks like the trunk forms the calf of the robot mode similar to MPM Bumblebee. The front windshield is on his back, as you can easily see it. I can't tell if the roof of the car and the window is attached and rotates on his back and the windshield points down or not. I can't figure out where his sirens go either but I think they probably used the accordion method similar to MPM Bumblebee to compact and hide the roof and siren since the windshield is the only easily visible kibble from the top of the car. He definitely has 3 fingers based on the paint app legend points out. Anyone else have anything to add or clarify about what I see here? It's definitely inspired by HA Barricade, one of my favorite Barricade designs. This one is basically a much improved version of the HA Barricade without having to sacrifice the space needed to fit a driver figure and car interior.
right i caught that, guess i spelled beetle wrong lol i was referring to the line after the 2018 releases of Barricade, Ironhide, and 2018 Prequel Bee.
nice looking FIgure finally getting decpeticon figure in movie master piece like see more movie master piece FIGUres in future
IMO it wouldn't make sense to rotate front part of the chest couse it would be one part and flat (like Dotm deluxe), on pictures we can clearly see the bottom bumper parts are separate pieces, also headlights on chest are painted pieces and parts on the shoulders are clear just like HA. The only piece that is fake is the top curved chest part.
It's really hard to tell with the stupid watermarks and the red highlighting over it so you could be right. The bottom bumper parts are definitely separate pieces that are on both the alt mode and robot mode because I see the white dot on it. The grill IMO is different in the car mode vs. the robot mode. I believe this because the robot mode, if you look closely, the painted headlights are closer to the grill but the car mode, the piece next to the grill is black; and there would be no reason for it to show the robot headlights. Unless the robot headlights out and in front of the grill during the transformation, which is very possible. I don't think there is enough evidence to suggest either at this point. If we could see the grey model of the figure for both modes, I think we would be able to figure it out easier. The image is not high res enough or light enough for us to make out all the details yet.
Agree, when we'll see the prototype then it will be easier to figure out. At this point it's just blind speculation
I expected AoE Barricade, but fine. Wonder if they just remolded great HA version or it is whole new one.
well it's half october and according to the first rumors he's slated for a march 2018 release so we wont see a prototype untill december i guess
