They say about the Cybertron prequel, Boulder Media is making it right now. That's why the entire new storyline. Earlier in 2015-16 we have heard, that Akiva Goldsman wrote the script for it. Although they have time toreconsider that script. It's likely they have enough time to finish it in 2019.

actually the guys that wrote Ant-Man 2 are the writers of the Cybertron sequel, but yeah as you said they had plenty of time to work on the script

And this means next to nothing. Movie productions change things all the time.

Well that's a given for any movie. But, as of right now, there doesn't seem to be any reason to doubt that it'll make 2019.

Box Office performance of TLK doesn't appear to have changed anything in regards to production / release dates. (Bumblebee would have changed anyway).

That's called counting the chickens before they hatch.

2019 is still two years away and there's a low-budget TF film between then and now. If Bumblebee fails - and let's be honest there is a very good chance of this because 2018 is looking like a strong year across the board - then there's no point in dumping more money into a franchsie that's virtually dead.

Bumblebee film got moved from summer to December. That's pretty major.

What I said was that, as of right now, its still set for 2019. Obviously it's still almost two years away and things change, but that goes for literally any movie. In the meantime you just assume that it makes its date until something solid comes to light that suggests it won't. Possibility of delay is a given.

That was already pretty likely tbh given the competition it was facing, it was discussed on here before TLK even came out. I'm sure performance of TLK was the factor that ultimately confirmed the change but I don't doubt that it was already being considered before then. The news only came out at the end of July, so that decision would have been made fairly early into TLK's run.

Assuming that TF6 does make 2019, the Bumblebee movie won't have an effect as production will have wrapped. The only way Bumblebee will affect TF6 is if the film is pushed back a year.

What would be the point of forcing all the spin off stuff and pointless plot into TLK just to not continue the series?

Of course there will be a Transformers 6.

There's a good chance they are going to change it again considering Aquaman is releasing on the same date and that has potential. Of course, if Justice League's critical reception isn't too good, that might dapper it, but if JL is well received (especially if Momoa himself is well received), then the Bumblebee movie should definitely move its spot.

Has potential in your opinion. Who takes him seriously? Aquaman is pretty much the joke of all super heroes to the common person. That's a big IF, about the justice league.

Not many people had faith in Wonder Woman, either, yet here we are.

Not to mention if they do Aquaman right he's pretty badass.

Wonder Woman is not the complete joke that Aquaman is though. Good luck to them trying to convincing the general audience that.

It's not unusual for the studios to move the release date of films around. There are just so many factors that can cause a studio to say hey this is a major investment so lets move it to a more favorable release window. With nothing set in stone it's not even that uncommon for studios to announce movies that don't end up getting made. Universal went crazy announcing movies and stars for their Dark Universe but after the failure of The Mummy those films will likely get scrapped because studios don't set out to lose money on a movie.

Plus it's not the end of the world if Paramount decided it needed to move the release date of it's Transformers movies. The idea of a movie every year was a bit too ambitious with the domestic dip each film. Perhaps a bit of time between films will give the studio some time to better evaluate their next move in the franchise after the Bumblebee movie. Right now we just can't be sure if the Bumblebee will be the sort of movie that can revive the franchise or if people have gotten so burned out that nothing can turn it around when there are so many other choices at their local theater.

If nothing else Paramount needs to develop other tent pole movies so that everything doesn't ride on having to rush out a Transformers movie because it's their only tent pole franchise.

Don't forget Mission Impossible... After all, they are onto their 6th film since 1996.

It has a good director behind it and some good stars like William Dafoe in it. Depending on how audiences react to Jason Momoa's performance in JL, he might become popular enough to get people interested in his movie like Gal Gadot in BvS. Ant-Man and GOTG were seen as jokes but still became popular and made bank. Either way, one of them is going to have to move their dates in order to not eat each other's revenue.

No, Ant Man and GoTG were virtually unknown to the general audiences. Aquaman has been the butt of jokes for decades.
