And the best part about all these is that when something goes wrong with TakaTom pieces, the fanboys either come out with "justifications" on their end while totally forgotten that those justifications CAN apply to Hasbro's as well...

    Or...

They disappear from the thread/discussion & never be seen/heard of anymore. :lol

Sloppy paint and loose molds happen, sure, but it's the increase in those things from Takara's products lately that can be a bit worrisome. Especially since those problems are creeping into higher end releases like Masterpiece as well.

There tend to be two very small bumps on the edge of the left side of his lower lip.

In person it's not very noticeable. Both Takara and Hasbro versions are impacted, but not all.

People first noticed it with the Takara one, despite being on some Hasbro ones too.

If you look on Emgo's YouTube review from months back, his Hasbro TR Hot Rod has the space herpes on the lip that everyone is just now noticing on the Takara Legends version.

Had a trio of new arrivals today : TLK Deluxe 'Hot Rod', and the more, long anticipated Legends Targetmasters Hot Rod and Kup.

Legends Hot Rod is different enough from his TR self that I think they're both worth getting (of course, the same goes for Kup). The darker magenta and black legs gives the impression of a more mature Hot Rod, compared to his bright red counterpart (I really hope someone makes an IDW face for that guy.).

And, of course, he also comes with that 'punched in the mouth' face.

I don't really like the hollowness of the chest (maybe we can stick a Matrix in there), but the transparency aspect has me wondering how it would look with a few LEDs installed.

Kup is definitely a good representation of the old G1 veteran. His joints are solid (my TR one was pretty floppy in comparison), and maybe it's me but I'm getting a WW2 vet vibe from parts of his deco..

And the Targetmasters - I don't seem to be having the problems some people are complaining about. I do know one thing : I want more Targetmasters !

All in all, a couple of worthwhile additions to my collection.

Oh, and TLK Hot Rod is okay, I guess.

I still don't know why they call him Hot Rod..............

Finally had the time and opportunity to open up these guys. Love how the colors pop and the Targetmasters are cool additions. Hot Rod and Kup look great next to LG Arcee, Blurr, and Ultra Magnus. Dig the vibrant colors on the Sharkies and their Headmasters too! No QC issues or sloppy paint errors at all on my figures; they're all flawless. Takara, keep 'em coming!

They might just be swamped. I'd imagine you weren't the only one shipping out their stash.

Thought I'd do it for those afraid to do it themselves. Reminds me of those dipping bird things.

I have no problem with turning Hot Rod's engine round it's pretty loose not really stressing the plastic at all. I don't fancy tabbing his chest in though.

My Kup's hand also popped off out the package, it does seems a tiny bit warped but it's good enough.

Also Herpes can be worse, one of the four sweep heads I got has a case of it

Got my Kup today - the only QC flaw is a decently sized paint chip on the shoulder, but it still looks fantastic even with said flaw. Well done TT!

    YES! These just arrived!

I finally got my Legends Kup and I'm INCREDIBLY happy with him. This is my first experience with this mould and I can already say that is one of my favorites from the Titans Return line. I'm actually amazed of the things they were able to accomplish here thanks to the smart engineering, especially how the panels from the vehicle transform into pretty solid legs.

The paint job is also quite faithful to the G1-incarnation as expected from Takara and they even did some extra remoulding in both the head and arms to make it even accurate... but that comes with mixed results. The arms don't combine as well in vehicle mode and makes the hands much more visible now. Other than that, I don't have any complaints about this, is a pretty damn good mould but dare I say that is too good for Kup? It makes him a bit taller than I expected and lacks his classic backpack due to the clean transformation. I wish they would use this mould for other characters.

This also my first experience with the first wave of new Targetmasters aaaaand they're okay at best. They look fine in robot mode but the gun mode leaves a bit to be desired. Not to mention that it makes this figure lack the double guns that looked so well in TR Kup and even worked like jet packs.

    20171105_092249[1].jpg
And here it is with the last Takara release (with IGear upgrades). Legends Kup has a cleaner profile than United Kup but on the other hand, the United version has better articulation thanks to the wrist swivels and ankle tilts. I guess I could keep Legends Kup in my G1 display and United Kup in my IDW Wreckers collection.

    20171105_092348[1].jpg
I also got Legends Sharkticon and the mould is not great sadly. The articulation is kinda poor with arms that are eternally bent and legs that don't bend that much. However, it does look like the classic version at the very least and the Scourge Sweep head is a nice and very appropriate addition considering that you will want three of these figures at the very least to form armies of both characters (I also gave him one of the Dr. Wu weapons for Legends-size figures, is a very nice set).

Overall, pretty satisfied with these figures and makes me excited for the next bunch.
