Just want some opinions of which TB you went with and why.

I bought BC's because I love the look and finish even though it's probably the least G1 accurate in bot-mode. I need to replace it though because my youngest got a hold of it (my fault) and played with it pretty rough. I thought it survived but transforming it into bot-mode its right lower leg fell apart in a million pieces. I could fix it, but it would be un-transformable.

I'm not a fan of MMC's, and am leaning towards XTB's. What do you guys think? My criteria is that it's gotta look great and be fun. I don't mind deviations from G1 unless they're drastic.

I would just get another BC one but thought this might be a good opportunity to "upgrade".

So far it's XTB Aegis for me. The QC is on point and overall I think he fulfills the aesthetic better than the MMC or BC versions. I'm still waiting on my perfect version, but Aegis will do for now.

As far as fun factor (like something you'd "play" with) I couldn't say as most 3P figures are meant for shelf display and a few transformations and not something you'd want to transform multiple times without banging your head against a wall due to frustration. They aren't what I'd consider toys per se. For that I'd wait on something from Hasbro. Aegis is definitely more fun though than BadCube's version. I've owned both, so I can confirm that with certainty.

Doesn't exist yet. Had XTB's and simply got sick of bending things, crappy paint and fingers flying. It feels like a KO.

I have BC Speedbump and neither MMC or XTB look as good IMO but I prefer the full toon aesthetic. FT offering intrigues me but the gap on the side in truck mode needs to be dealt with.

I have MMCs and I regret it. Can't speak for the other choices, but don't get MMCs.

I have versions of all three molds. Directly I have the Badcube and XTB versions. Indirectly I have the yellow MMM Trailbreaker which isn't all that different.

In my opinion, the MMC version is the "worst". It's not bad. I don't think any of them are bad. But it, for me, it isn't much fun in either mode.

Badcube's, I think, is mostly perfect from the chest up looks wise, its paint is spot-on and it definitely captures the character's awkwardness well. But from the pelvis down it gets awkward fast and the knees are kinda crumbly. And this is coming from a Badcube fan who looks forward to their bots.

The XTB version is the best on the market. QC was well received from what I've read and he definitely looks the part. All his articulation, save the shoulders, is very sturdy. You can defini tell the mold was built for him and adapted to Trailbrteaker which seems to be the opposite with the other releases. And, the XTB version definitely came with the best accessories.

    My two energon.

Edit: Crap. I misread this as talking about Hoist. No idea how though it probably has something to do with working 14+ hours between both jobs today. Sorry!

Though you can, more or less, stick with my comments though the XTB version of Trailbreaker is definitely 2nd to their Hoist I still think it's good and am happy I have it.

MMC. I’ve no issues with my copy except that the weapons look a little small. I can fix that by 3D printing my own versions. Don’t like the way BC TB looks. XTB looks nice but I think it’s a bit too tall.

I went with MMC's. It looks good in both modes and I'm not looking for toon accuracy.

@Maz had posted a picture of him with MMC Mirage with both of them wearing their toy heads. This pushed me over the edge, as Mirage looks badass with that head.

I wasn't really interested in Trailbreaker as a character, but he looks good with the toy head and it reminded me of "The Man of Steel" comic (Where in Jazz, Mirage, Trailbreaker, and Bluestreak infiltrate a small town in the UK). It was a very dark and raw two issues compared to most of the previous works.

Trailbreaker's noteable scene involves him getting his legs blown off.

The artist, unfamiliar with Transformers, used the toys as reference material. So they had their toy heads and builds for the most part.

BadCube's because Ocular Max had too many defects and KFC's wasn't out yet and they are generally not as good quality-wise. It's good enough for now. I'm not replace it until there's a definitive Takara or Fans Toys version that surpasses it, if that happens.

I just got aegis yesterday. He’s pretty good, but the accent paint apps are sloppy. Apparently it’s always something with them. My first xtb bot since appolyon.

I have mmc and xtb for both hoist and trailbreaker.

I say go with xtb. They have their flaws, but hands down better than mmc in my opinion

I have MMC Terraegis and like him a lot. It's clear from the above posts he's not for everyone. For my collection he's perfect. I put the toy head on the minute he was out of the box and that's how he stays. The mix of toy and real world alt mode is what makes him great. I also have Dakar Rally. I'm just fond of the mold despite its shortcomings. The biggest offender being the loose feet and ab crunch. My feet aren't too bad on my copy though. They all seem to have issues so pick the one you think will look the best for you and your current collection esthetic. I will definitely get Takaras offering when released but Terraegis isn't going anywhere.

At this stage, I'll get either MMC or XTB. It might depend on what Black Friday sales bring.

To me, MMC’s on point for the toon look with the narrowing chest and height is great. Alt mode is realistic which fits earlier MP releases from the Hasui era so Terraegis is my MP Trailbreaker.

    Thankfully mine is defect free.

Good point, they are a little small in “hand” too. The other thing I prefer on mmc is the shoulder articulation. But I can get a lot of good poses with xtb too, it’s just that once you have one you realize the better looking one lacks it slightly
