Just got the THF Soundblaster and it exceeded my expectations, which were low to begin with. Everything tabs in nicely and the joints are nice and tight. My only complaint is that the waist swivel could be tighter, but not a deal breaker. Very happy with purchase. Ratbat was nice too.

How do you feel about the color off the eyes and red Megs gun compared to the official Soundblaster.

I will probably end up painting the eyes red. They are a smokey red, but looks almost black when installed in his head. Not a fan of the red megs gun, but I wasn't planning on displaying it with KO Soundblaster anyway.

The TRU Soundwave is worth the money and isn't too far off in price of the KO ($180 vs $131 when you buy him and the two cassette packs)

Does anyone need reprolabels for Soundblaster? I am going to purchase a set so that I can get the Ratbat labels.

Would be willing to to part with the Soundblaster labels for $5 plus postage (the set sells for $16 + $3 shipping).

    Hi Friends!

Does anyone have any advice for how to acquire a new shoulder assembly for Soundwave?

I received mine in September but didn't open it for a few weeks. When I finally got to it, I found the shoulder was frozen and immovable. I horsed it and it... snapped.

The details of how this came to be are on pages 1406 and 1407 of THE KNOCK OFF TRANSFORMERS THREAD.

I think that if I can find a shoulder assembly, I could probably repair it... I have a house full of tools, eye glasses repair kits and other tiny hobbyist tools and supplies... and more importantly, some patience and skills.

Besides, can I really make it worse?

It actually looks like all you broke was misplaced glue. Isn't that the pin sticking out of the shoulder joint that just pushes into the hole in the arm?

I think you're right!! I can pop the arm back on... and it seats right in the shoulder.

But it has no rigidity. No strength. It can only hang down...

It's okay for standing there as a statue... but that's about it.

The comment about the misplaced glue has my interest. I hadn't thought about that, but now that you mention it... it does look like dried glue.

I wonder if that's factory misplaced glue, or was this a previously returned purchase that I received.

If it's a factory QC issue, then is there a proper placement of the glue?

Thanks for your comment and for your observation!!

Looks like the assembly itself cracked....In theory it can be fixed but it requires a ton of patience. Is the pin cracked as well?

Regarding the glue, It doesnt look like its needed in there. You bought this from a store or ebay?

I think the pin may be cracked. It sticks out from inside the shoulder assembly housing. That is how I can sit the arm into the shoulder assembly.
    IMAG3771.jpg

I assume it had some type of rivet or washer with the detached arm hole that kept it in place.
    IMAG3759.jpg
The way the shoulder would move in a circular motion forward and backward, I think that the housing was two plastic grey cylinders with a metal pin inside. I think the cylinders were somehow glued together, which would explain why the arm was fused into place... until I horsed it.

    That's the theory...

I purchased it from Best Grey. The KO Transformers I purchased from him in the past never really had critical issues, until this purchase of a KO Soundwave.

I have a real Takara Tomy Soundblaster that I thought about taking apart for comparison. But that thing has no issues... and I don't want to create any.

    Thanks again!!

From the looks of it, I think it can be fixed. I dont have a Soundwave to compare, but in your place (assuming you run out of replacement options) I would unscrew the component (chest?) with the pin and the arm to check what type of pin it is. If its a T shape on both sides, it will be difficult to replace. If it a regular T, it would be a simple matter of finding a replacement pin and inserting it in there, and screwing the thing together.

Now if the cylinder IS cracked, thats fixable too, but it requires to find a replacement and at worst filling it down. When and if you take appart his torso check out his other arm too, to see how it functions.

Wtf does in transit mean? Five days in the us should mean delivery..... Getting scared I am afraid someone is trying to play my sound blaster right now.

I'm bad with acronyms. RH? Rod Hot? Robot Heroes?

I was putsing on the web and saw that there is an oversized KO Soundwave with cassettes. I think it was made by Robot Hero, and offered at $94.00 USD from that Show Z spot on Ali Express.

I found it strange that as an oversized piece, it was only 10 inches tall. But then, I don't have the MPP10, or the OS Seekers, or any oversized Masterpiece styled figure... so I'm not sure how they scale... or if they scale.

Is that the RH that you were referencing?

Something like that happened to me in the past. I'd go to check the tracking and it would say "In Transit to Courier".

I was like "What!? Couldn't they just drive it to DHL or some equivalent?"

After contacting the seller, I was informed to "please be patient" and that my item was "being checked in by the EMS service".

Since I work for a global organization that deals with China, I am used to EMS and their opaque and unclear delivery statuses.

After contacting the seller, about a day later the status was updated to "received at sorting center, shanghai". It stayed with that status for weeks until it was eventually updated to "received in new york".

A day later, I came home and found my package.

While some type of tracking status is intended to help alleviate our concerns, I am amazed by how inconsistent the tracking from some international courier services can be.

How long ago did you purchase it? How long did it take until your tracking number revealed anything meaningful? Did it make it to the US? How long has it been "in transit"?

I'm not terribly far from Philly and NYC... two very busy hubs. But if I resided in some rural region, far from any major metropolitan area, well... I do not know how things work out in say, the Appalachian mountains.
