Ore than likely it needed to be off (and unplugged) for a little bit to let the capacitors to drain. I know that sounds insane, but it's a trick I've used to fix laptops.

Guys, I'm thinking of picking up a PS4 soon and here are my questions:

    1. Should I get the pro version or the regular version?

    2. Any games to recommend? I'm thinking of picking Gundam versus and Tekken 7 but I'm not sure of other titles?

Would anyone recommend Star Wars: Battle Front or the Godzilla game?

    Help please :)

There's really not a point to the first Battlefront. It's 80% online only and it'll be pretty dead by the time BFII comes out.

Does your gaming TV support 4k resolutions or HDR?. If not, that'll negate some of the benefits of the Pro right out of the box, though you can still get it and upgrade your TV later.

Both those games are good choices. Persona 5 also if you're into RPGs. Really depends though on what genre of games interests you.

And what you've played before, coz Last of Us. If you want a Star Wars shooter, wait for the new one.

If you're paying subs you'll get access to free games each month. One day, battlefront may be there.

Guys, thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! What you guys posted on the SW battle front makes sense!

I'm so out of loop for gaming for the past 5 years so I really needed the recommendations! :)

Watching the first episode of Let's Plays or actual reviews on Youtube should be sufficient to give you an idea if a certain game will interest you.

So, just got a PS4. Like, the other day. I haven't played on it yet and am really hoping that this is a worthwhile purchase. Already have Dragon Ball Xenoverse ready and the Sims is my primary motivator, along with that Jurassic Park building game coming out some time next year. You guys might get the impression that I like making things in games.

But, I would like to know of a few decent games for the PS4. I'm not really a fan of shooting things in games all that much (Saints Row 2 the only real exception) and am also on the look for things related to Halloween (but not necessarily horror.) Anyone have ideas?

    Ditto.

Been playing Cities Skylines recently and it's a completely different type and pace of game I'm used to... but I'm loving it. Expansion packs have just been announced for it slated for November so I'm looking forward to those. My desktop isn't anywhere good enough to run it how I would like, so I'm glad it got ported to PS4.

If you enjoy RPGs The Witcher 3 is amazing. Skyrim SE and Diablo 3 both run great on the PS4. For fighters, Mortal Kombat X is very solid.

Bloodborne. Action RPG, think Dark Souls Meets Cthulhu mythos. If you like RPGs, there's Tales of Berseria. Also, the Berserk game.

Witcher 3 has a great crafting system and you do get a home to customize, the monsters you fight have an horror element.

Dishonored 1 and Dishonored 2, are great with their Victorian Gothic world, their own version of plague mixed with zombies and a great story. Gameplay is great and the games allow so many options on how to beat a level. The game has a crossbow and gun, but you never have to use them. Not when you have you're sword and magical abilities. So no worries there.

Styx: Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness, for a cheap stand alone studio game is a great fantasy stealth game.

Thief is also a great stealth game, with horror elements in some levels, the plot is a bit non-existent, since its about a class uprising happening in the city around you, so you see the events happen elsewhere as you play. But there is a personal vendetta plot, its just, its one of those games that just end. But still a fun ride, with a plethora of hidden collectibles to steal, to decorate your base.
