The alt mode looks 100,000,000 X better than Sovereign, lol.

    It's true.

I've never been that into Galvatron and I have never bought a Galvatron figure, but I did recently get Big Spring and I love it so much that I feel compelled to buy Big Cannon as well. At $60 its hard to say no.

It shouldn’t be... mine isn’t, but at TFCon I saw someone’s cannon broke at that connection point, so I’ve been hesitant to mess with it much. That said, placing the back end of the arm-cannon under the main body would never have occurred to me. It does fill out the shape a bit, to make the cannon look less flat.

Having had him for a bit, my only real gripe on the figure is that beveled chestplate. I wish it were more barrel shaped, ala G1, rather than having that pointy center ridge in the style of TR Galvy. Looking at it in pics, I’m tempted to see if I could just sand that centerline down to make it rounder.

It's for this reason and the weird shape of his hip covers is why I won't be buying this. There is no reason they couldn't get those two aspects screen accurate.

I dont want this for $60. $45, and we have a legit discussion though.

$60.00's a fair price, especially if you can get it with free shipping or in a POL. Honestly, this is by all accounts a well-made figure with an excellent scale size, and it's 3rd party, so $60.00 is absolutely worth it. A steal.

Okay, so I don't have an MP Galvatron...while I admit it doesn't look as good/ clean as sovereign, seems cheap and I might have to pick him up as a stand in until takara does one.

For the price he looks great. Takara know we want an official Galvatron ASAP, but I can see them making Cyclonus first just to keep us all waiting lol!

Sweet I just took my cannon apart and transformed him like the promo shot there--pretty nice difference!

I really feel he's worth his asking price, despite lifting TR engineering and Tyrant's (rather awesome) face.

If this comes out after 11/11 and there's not much of a price difference, I'll order from a US seller.

On one hand, I share your frustration with those odd aesthetic choices... however, I must point out that a figure like MP Ironhide had weird hip panels and other less-than-screen-accurate features but still costs half again as much for a smaller figure. Sovereign definitely looks far more cartoon accurate than Big Cannon, but costs 2.5x-3x as much, so while I certainly would appreciate Sovereign on my shelves more than I appreciate Big Cannon, for me, it was not really $100 more of appreciation. I hope Open & Play will lean in a bit more to the 'toon aesthetic for future releases, but at $50, I still feel it was a worthwhile purchase for me.

Damn, FT better hurry up and announce a reissue for Sovereign, because I don't know how long I'll be able to hold off on getting this guy.

for sure he is up already, it can stand with MP stuff no problem, def not as detailed as Sovereign and very cartoony but one of the nicest Galvy styles figures so far. He's got super clicky ratchets, nice transformation and looks good in both modes.
