Major issue? Mine has been able to bend 90-degrees from the start. There's a small rub point on the upper arm, but nothing that bad.

I’m one of those weirdos that may like the KSI Boss head pictured on the box better than the one he came with. Anyone know if there’ll be a way to get one in the near future?

Just got this guy yesterday and holy crap is he awesome. Great bot and alt modes, and the transformation is back to ROTF levels of engineering. My right arm was super tight the first time, but now it's perfect. He's great, and looks awesome with the rest of the TLK Cons

I've scanned the thread to no avail: can the head stay on for transformation?

So I just picked this guy up. Aside from the repaints of Grimlock and Slash for The Last Knight, both of which I returned because the quality and design were so horrible (Slash literally couldn't even support his own weight), Nitro Zeus is my first mainline (not masterpiece) movie transformer since... 2012? Whenever Cyberfire Bumblebee came out.

I hated the direction the line went for Age of Extinction. In general, the toys were smaller, less complex, had less paint applications and atrocious quality control, and still cost more than previous lines did. While I've yet to experience any other original TLK toys aside from Nitro, the AOE repaints did not step the quality up in any way.

Nitro Zeus though? Hot dang. Since 2011 I've transitioned over to primarily collecting Masterpiece toys, but 3-5 times a year I'll go out and buy a mainline Hasbro transformer that catches my eye, since they're generally a bit easier to pick up and quickly fiddle with than Masterpiece toys are. Nitro takes that to another level, though, compared to the movie toys that have been around since 2014. He's got a great design that has the complicated movie look in robot mode, but manages to look like a smooth, aerodynamic jet in vehicle mode, while doing something more inventive with the design than keeping his wings spread on his back and his nosecone becoming his chest. While the paint is minimal, it's placed well enough that it gives the toy some personality despite having a simple color palette. Joints are all nice and tight where they need to be, and while articulation isn't superb, it's certainly better than I'd expected after experiencing the AOE Grimlock mold.

The craziest part is that this toy has absolutely no business being this great, though! It's a throwaway character with no history in the franchise and no big moments in the movie, but whatever designed ended up working on the toy poured his heart into the process, and you can tell completely. It's no Generations Springer, but it's absolutely a movie toy that hearkens back to the glory days of the Revenge of the Fallen line without being annoyingly complex like Mixmaster.

I like Nitro, but Voyager Megatron I think is the best figure in the line, just IMHO and a recommendation.

The hats removable and the toy can hold the aoe voyagers weapons. Accept you've lost this battle and give in to the fat ballerinas seductive toy.

Am I the only one that has a really hard time getting the left leg to peg in for jet mode? I feel like that tab attached to the rear section of the chest is too long and it takes massive force to get the leg to slot in under it. Am I missing something or is it time to sand some plastic?

Edit: ah, I see this is a thing. I tried loosening the screw to no avail. Off to the Dremel.

Finally found this guy in a store & couldn't pull the plug - but I just realized that I almost left Scorn too, crap...

Edit: after a long weekend, I decided to swing back through the only store that I'd seen carry him & picked him up.

First Impressions: he's not bad, but I've only transformed him once - still, I'd rather have paid 27, than 50 or more...

I would rather sand off the slot in the leg that pegs into it, not the chest tab. Because the tab is also used to lock the arm in place for 'bot mode.

So I finally got a Nitro (for retail price thank god) and here are my impressions (having only had him for one night):

-the head really sucks. Both the design of it (like a less-interesting Whirl head) and the fact that it is loose as hell and pops off all the time (he came in the mail with the head loose and jumping around in the package), although all the “secret” headmaster stuff is such a fun addition!

-transformation is complex and interesting, even if the goddamn head keeps falling off. One line-wide criticism I have of TLK is that anything with a hinge joint seems to want to pop off all day every day and it kept happening here during transformation.

-I was sure his jet mode would be seen once by me then never again since it looked boring as hell, but now that I have it in hand I’m actually digging it. He will be displayed in bot mode though.

-love the weapons, and I miss the days when they were more integrated into the bot modes like they are here.

-he doesn’t feel like he necessarily lacks paint, although I still intend to add a little to him, but overall he looks a lot more complete paint-wise than most of the rest of the line.

-I’m pleased with the posability but there is a random piece on the right upper arm that needlessly gets in the way and I intend to shave it off.

Overall pleased with this guy but I’m also glad I didn’t pay over retail for him. I really miss the shockwave head from the movie. Are any 3P companies or shape ways people working on a head for this guy? I’ll pay extra if it’s an actual headmaster too haha

I have one inbound from Amazon for $29, and one from the Takara release waiting to be shipped from HLJ.
I will be using my "spare" for the "Bayformer" Thunderwing custom everyone has been tinkering on.
