The cartoon for the older fans IS G1. That's all they need. They'll buy the toys based on it.

I'll tell you what, the show creators certainly weren't "kid"-ding around when they made those pieces

Its a nice by product but not the aim. Well written well animated cartoons are received well by adults but they are aimed at Children.

Generations currently does have a cartoon - the terrible Machinima series. As far as Hasbro's concerned, that's their animated output for "older fans".

I know, but at the least tone-wise it could be like prime, dark enough for adults to enjoy, but still super kid friendly

Yeah like samurai jack, star wars the clone wars, or avatar, which all also had parts that appealed to adults

No, it was CREATED in the 90's and I remember watching it in the early 2000's, read.

I didn't say girls don't deserve their own stuff, but currently boys get neglected as result. On my personal point, those new girls stuff suck, yes I'm woman.

There's no reason why he shouldn't have a faceplate. It's a classic design and just makes him look wrong. And no it wasn't for saving costs, it was so it would match his toy appearance.

Still cartoons made for and by media outlets aimed at children. As it stands I enjoy RiD even though its aimed at Kids.

I'm pretty sure the Monkey episode with the Gay Silver Surfer was banned in the 90s.

Boys don't get neglected theres tons of media aimed at Boys.

Except Prime was grittier and geared towards an audience that was well out of primary school.
Animated had very few darker moments than Prime did. Really, the only one that stands out for me was when Prowl died :cry

Rescue Bots is a great cartoon for the under 10 crowd, as it should be.
I'm just of the opinion that there's more than enough room for a cartoon for the older fans ( teens to adults). I would love to see a cartoon that updated the familiar G1 characters, and gave the show a Prime type grittiness. Hasbro would make money on the toys that accompanied the cartoon. That's just my own opinion on the cartoon universe.

Oh look. Yet another show starring Bumblebee, who is apparently the only Transformers character in existence worth developing. Ever.

Why oh why don't they ever use any one of the vast supply of characters they have? Imagine the Adventures of Jazz, or Blaster and his tapes (and be sure to have his rivals, Soundwave and his tapes), or zany antics of Brainstorm and (straightman) Perceptor, or a young and brash Hot Rod learning what Earth (and other) life is all about, or like... pretty much anyone except the character who's being done to death already? (I personally would watch the heck out of a show that consisted of Hound, Beachcomber and Trailbreaker saving the Earth from litterbug Cons XD)

No, here in the article that Wiki based it's reference upon, it says: "Cartoon Network yanked the clip from the episode’s repeats.- Banned “Anti-Gay” Toon Exhumed!.

Not as in the past...like that guy said before, there isn't much of action cartoons anymore.

The episode first aired in 96. If the episode was THAT controversial I don't think they'd have let it run for over four years. But I am going off my memory so I might be wrong.

Boys don't just enjoy Action though.

From a design standpoint, I'm really sick of the goofy designs and arts styles the main franchises have had as of late. G1 was also goofy and for kids, but it had lots of great, solid designs with good proportions.

Grittiness doesn't make good. They were all Children's shows they just varied in tone. In fact the 86 Movie was aimed at kids and is enjoyed by Adults.

I personally would like to see NEW ideas not reliant on G1.
