wave 3 bee. idk man, this thing is not what i thought it would be. i had high hopes for this figure. paint is ok but suffers the usual, super loose joints and tabs that barely work. and those eyes are creepy, looks like hes on meth. the natural comparison (based on look) would be DOTM bee, but this mold actually reminds me more of thrilling 30 bee/nightbeat mold, which was not that great. i hate to say it, i do prefer wave 1 bee better. a quality mold unchanged, but took a hit with the cheaper material. a built in cannon (on the correct side) is better than that wave 3 gimmick. the stump. not for display with the main collection, DOTM bee still holds that title. instead he'll go good on the prime& bee shelf...

Wanted to share my most recent "holy grail" acquisition. APS-01U.

I missed out on this guy when he first came out and I finally snagged an amazing deal on ebay for this guy.

While it feels great to have him in hand, I am a little disappointed sadly. I'm not sure if I just hyped myself up too much or just knew what I was getting once I purchased this but I feel just a little underwhelmed. While he looks gorgeous and is amazing how vastly different a figure can look with a new deco, my copy has a few issues.

The most "glaring" are some sloppy paint apps. Mostly on the door mirror. . . 20171014_011231.jpg

    And the wheel.

I understand that sloppy paint happens and I can fix it but it's a little disappointing. This is supposed to be a premium figure and while I understand that this mold is old I would have hoped that the paint would be better.

Outside of paint there's a weird swirl on his left forearm which again, I understand is a reality of molded plastic but it's a little off putting.
    20171014_011635.jpg

My copy also has a loose left leg and makes it a little droopy if I hold him up horizontally (couldn't capture a picture of it). It's not a huge deal but again if this is a premium edition I want it to feel like one.

The eBay listing said it was only displayed which I fully believe and I can see it was taken care of it so it's not the sellers fault but I guess I just want to know if others who own this figure had some of the same QC problems or if mine is an anomaly.

Since it is so late I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and put him in some bad ass poses so when I get a chance to do that I'm sure I'll come around and like him more but I just want to know if this is the standard.

Also if anyone who has this figure is willing to part with the Striker gun and shield that came with theirs I'm interested (mine didn't come with those parts - which is partially why I got a good deal). PM me if you're interested in selling.

As impressive as MPM-04 is he really doesn't strike my fancy. I've kept up with the discussions on him and while I'm glad a lot of collectors like him, he still just doesn't look that great. In my opinion.

For whatever reason I'm very partial to the ROTF mold. Even if it isn't as accurate to the CGI, I still love the mold.

The only thing that I'd really want to puchase is a 4Ever studio Prime 2.0. That would be my definitive first trilogy Optimus Prime.

Who knows though. My collecting preferences can change and maybe the MPM will grow on me but for now, I'm okay :thumb

Still interested in hearing other feedback from those who own APS-01U.

very pleased with mpm-4. this thing truly is a work of art. fortunately i was blessed with a decent copy, no complaints whatsoever. sometimes i walk by and catch a quick glance at him, stop and think, wow what a great looking figure. museum quality. this might be the figure that kills all other OP movie figures.

So in regards to Dragonstorm, what kind of flight stand can I use to prop him up?

The ones with that c-clip that usually go around the waist of figures doesn't look like it'll open wide enough to get around the dragon's midsection.

    Any recommendations?

I'd highly recommend the Takara version of MPM-04.

Actually, unless you swapped heads, you appear to have the Movie the Best version there. The APS-01U version had an unmasked face.

I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures in the listing but I assure you it's APS-01U. The seller replaced the head with a masked version. No dull gray plastic here. It's that beautiful gunmetal gray.
