The thing is, the price they quoted for shipping initially was mostly in line with other Japanese etailers, so asking for another $50 was just absurd.

I ended up paying about $90 for shipping for fort max from NY. Most Japan retailers were ask for $80-90usd for fort max shipped, so they did underestimate shipping cost by asking for 5300? yen initially

Anyway...back on topic. My local hobby shops in Malaysia should carry these awesome releases at a cheaper rate...
But because Im really rabid for Legends Greatshot to reach me faster than its arrival to where Im at, I would gladly pay the extra shipping costs from Robotkingdom.

Little bit different for me. I ordered two and initially paid something like $160 for shipping the pair. Then when they arrived I was told it was too big to ship in one box and that they wanted another ~$140 in shipping (two invoices, one for $28.53 and the other for $108.07). Keep in mind this is with the money I already paid for shipping; so they wanted almost $300 in shipping.

Exchange rate at the time of my order was 123 yen to the dollar.
    Here is the original order:
    Total products (tax excl.): $304.19
    Total shipping (tax incl.): $159.54
    VAT: $0.00
    Total: $463.73

At the time I think it was ~$80 to ship a single one with the exchange rate at that time. When it was actually released I think the exchange rate was like 103 yen to the dollar.

I think BBTS and TCP had him listed at $259 at the time, so at the time of ordering even with shipping you still saved like $50 on a pair.

So what is a good place to preorder this guy in Japan or Asia, that will only charge you when in stock?

They both look really good. However, going to pass on Grand Maximus. Can't really afford many Titan Class figures as is when it comes to both financial and spacial issues. Greatshot however is something I must get. I really wish Hasbro would have released GS in the Chaos on Velocitron set over Quickswitch but at least we are getting him now from TT.

Not sure about NY but I have ordered no less than 25 MP and Legends figures from AE over the last 3-5 years and I have never experienced a problem. I highly recommend them.

Where are AE based? Silly question but I always thought America for some reason... not Japan? Lol. Thanks. Reason is shipping would be cheaper to where Im at if they were Japan based.

A-E is shady in the sense they have non-existent customer service ... some bot named Boris takes your emails and if it’s anything remotely difficult they ghost you ... that being said, I’ve experienced similar travails with other JP e-tailers so I sadly still buy from A-E bc they are the cheapest and they’ve only screwed-up bigly once in my 3+ years dealing, so take that for what you will ...
