Dobson is my preferred, after all Armada Starscream is my favorite Starscream.

    Second would go to Blum
    Third would probably be Rigel

Latta for being the foundation template everyone else based their performances upon, not to mention the one that went to the furthest extremes (which ain't to everyone's tastes, I'd presume)
Kenny for a competent and funny performance, if maybe a bit too "Ice King".
Blum has perhaps the best overall performance IMO, taking the Starscream-type voice into a more sinister register, and with good variety of vocal expression.

Latta for how unique he was, Kenny because he sounded both funny and intimidating at the same time, and Adler because it's freaking Chris Adler and damn if he doesn't sound scary even while playing the bitchiest Starscream of them all.

This argument has never made any sense to me.

It's like... TFA's Starscream debuted way before Ice King. And if you're talking about how similar they are, just look at Steve Blum's performance: He had already used his Starscream voice for the Killer Croc from the Arkhamverse, the Green Goblin from Spectacular Spider-Man, the Violator from the Spawn game and Vilgax from Ben 10.

Like at least Kenny's range isn't as limited. To my knowledge he hadn't used his Starscream before Transformers: Animated.

I'm probably in a minority on this, but I have always loved Starscream's voice from the Revenge of the Fallen game. It was so different from what Starscream usually sounds like, but it it was one of my favorites. With that said though, I don't think anything can top Steve Blum's performance as Starscream. He killed that performance and was able to capture all of Starscream' core personality traits. He's definitely my favorite Starscream for sure.

Well, not in your case, my bad if it seemed like that. I'm talking about how others use that as an argument. It seems very silly.

    1. Chris Latta. The voice is so unique and so full of character. You just hear it and think "Yep, that's Starscream".

    2. Steve Blum. It's a new take, but one that does do a great job invoking the character. Plus, Prime Starscream is my favorite version of the character.

    3. Tom Kenny. Enough its own, and enough a homage to the original Starscream. If I didn't like Prime Starscream so much, he'd be second place.

Honorable mentions to Charlie Adler, Sam Riegel... okay, pretty much everyone else. They all did a good job with the character.

I never liked Chris Latta's Starscream voice. :/

I think regardless of how shitty the character was written and handled, Blum is probably the best Starscream actor. He's multi-dimensional, you want to see him succeed even though a lot of the time he's a doofus, and Blum is terrific in general. He can go from delicate and threatening to slimy to utterly bombastic at the drop of a hat.

Tom Kenny is nearest and dearest to my heart because of Animated. I think Charlie Adler was really great too, especially once we got to ROTF and dropped the heavy modulation.

I know everybody hates him but I think Sam Riegel has potential as Starscream - but as a quiet, polite, scheming Starscream. Not a loud Starscream because holy fuck does he sound terrible. But his chapter in FOC where he's sneaking around and quietly observing Shockwave? He actually sounded kind of cool. I could go for Riegel as a strong, silent, calculating Starscream. Kinda like how Marty Isenberg wanted Animated Starscream to be at first.

Also, Daniel Ross was amazing as probably the scariest incarnation of Starscream in the 2007 DS games. Ross really made Starscream a domineering, slimy asshole, but you could actually see WHY he's ruled the Decepticons successfully for eons and indoctrinated the younger generation because he can really paint himself as the messiah and turn on the charm almost wholly convincingly.

Alright lemme try again. Blum as my number one, Ross as my number two, and Kenny as my number three.

Tom Kenny wins no contest. Dobson gets props for being a very different kind of Starscream. Adler I also really liked, especially his (briefly heard) processed TF1 rendition, but his normal Starscream was also cool.
