For context, the figure I was talking about was Marvel Legends Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel. The conversation was something along the lines of: "What? They made a Kamala Khan?" "Yeah. Here." "Oh, lemme see-UGHHHHH EVERYTHING IS WRONG (proceeds to complain about everything about the figure)" Also, something something Combiner Wars Mixmaster.
Anybody else having problems downloading the podcasts? It takes forever to start and then keeps re DLing over and over and never finishing but using up tons of MBs. I'm using itunes, and it's the only podcast out of dozens I listen to that has this issue. It's been going on for a while. Thanks
In that genie question I was just thinking about the sheer number of primes you would get. Even like the super rare stuff like lucky draws and coloring book contest Prime that must be worth a fortune. That's the first answer I thought of too.
I can't be 100% certain but the Hasbro NYCC* reveals have always been on a Thursday since Hasbro has been doing them unofficially. See after 2011, has been having NYCC reveals that aren't actually part of NYCC. Sort of like if BBTS had an online NYCC sale. Hasbro Toy Shop didn't have a booth at this year & you couldn't buy Grotesque anywhere. Anyway I was at NYCC when they started the practice & the reporting then made it sound like an actual NYCC event. Because of that & spending way too much time trying to locate the Hasbro event on the NYCC sched, I remember that it was early in the NYCC week
Did I miss the talk about the TFcon 3rd Party slide-show? Thought there was a LOT of interesting stuff there to unpack, but it doesn\'t appear to be in the topic list!
I was still very sick when we recorded this one & had been hoping to just do a short listener question show when the NYCC stuff all dropped, so I super duper just left that off the agenda hehe We touch on the Galaxy Force stuff and 1 or 2 other things in ep480 but I'm not sure anyone other than me has a lot of interest in combing through the 400 slides of stuff at this point
Vangelus, as a frequent con goer myself (been to SDCC & NYCC at least 4 times each) I've got suggestions regarding keeping the Con crud at bay. 1. Gargle w mouthwash every morning/night (having listerine strips on hand if you feel a throat tickle is a good idea) 2. Use either Zinc Lozenges or Halls Defense Citrus (or both). Zinc lozenges (Coldezze is a brand name) basically put a layer of zinc in your throat which germs have a hard time sticking to & Halls Citrus seems to help as well. I picked up these tricks in college where I had an awful time picking up almost every cold that went around. Since I've taken up this regimen I've never had a really bad cold & never had a case of Con crud either. So I suggest you try this next con you go to.
You seemed himesitsnt when I said "old timers". I refer to this for anyone that either downloaded Brast Machines 5mb Canadian files back on the day before they aired in the US or anyone that knows the imfamous "What so the speed of sex" topic It's good to know TrickyDisco is doing well!
So.... not to be that guy, but Grotusque's name has always been "Grotusque," not "Grotesque." It's one of those puntastic MOTU-esque G1 names based on the fact that he's ostensibly... sort of... a saber-toothed cat... winged.... thing. Also, as a fellow Bay Area guy, I hope Seth is okay up in Santa Rosa with all the fires.
Yup I got hit up on Twitter as well about Grotusque always being Grotusque - I think my brain constantly typofixed it since I was a child for whatever reason
I'm ok. I'm in Petaluma so I was pretty well away from the fires that hit Santa Rosa but the fires creeping up on Sonoma city are on the other side of some hills. We have been lucky with the winds the last couple days so the speed of the fire is slower and haven't reached the hills. Unless something crazy happens Petaluma should be ok.
