I finally got around to picking up a Switch today, as well as Splatoon 2. I'm glad to see these are everywhere now.

I ended up picking up Fifa 18 for Switch because I wanted a sports game but NBA 2k18 has too many issues. I'm digging it quite a bit. I know jack about soccer, but I'm having more fun with it than any sports game since Madden 2005.

EDGE has given Mario Odyssey it's first review, and it's a perfect 10/10. Sounds like there's a lot to love with this one, I'm pretty excited, especially about the
"lore changing ending" and the "substantial post-game" (fingers crossed about the Isle Delfino rumors being true, I mean hey, its there on the in-game map after all...)

Yeah I am super hyped for Odyssey. I'm a giant child at heart, which means Mario is cool with me despite its apparent perception as "kiddy." The games tend to be fun, imaginative, and full of content, so I'm very happy to hear about the early impressions.

Also, having followed its development and news pretty closely, I feel like it may do for Mario what BotW did for Zelda. Not in the sense of being fully open world, but just in the sense that it seems to be breaking series conventions and celebrating the entire history of the IP in fun ways.

Lore-changing ending? My God...could Mario and Peach finally be tying the knot after three decades?

    Actually
Peach dies in a graphic gruesome death. It’s a surprise the game got an E10 rating.

    I wonder if the
lore changing ending has to do with the cross-dimensional, partly in this world partly in the Nintendo world, connections to Donkey Kong, etc. etc. stuff going on in the game?

    Also
    "substantial post-game content"
is music to my ears for a game already evidently packed with all of content and collectibles shown in footage to date.

Kinda hoping the Jack Bros 2 game they teased ends up being real (because despite saying its fake in the trailer, the devs that made it make a lot of real joke games like this...) and gets a Switch release, could use a fun Metroidvania to play on that...

Oh hey that looks fun! I hope so too.

Have you tried Axiom Verge? That might also scratch that itch.

Most stores I go to anymore has a decent amount of consoles. My Walmart has about 7 Splatoon bundle consoles.

Rumors are floating around saying the remastered Crash Bandicoot Trilogy may eventually be available for the Switch.

If ever confirmed, that’s reason number four for me to want a Switch.

Imagine Crash, Sonic and Mario duking it out in Smash bros. Megaphone totting bandicoot from the attitude era.

Yeah it's safe to say the scarcity of Switch has ended. Even online retailers have them in stock virtually everywhere now, at the normal MSRP. (That's my measure for whether something is readily available, since I don't shop in brick and mortar stores. But that seems to be the case in those stores as well now.)

Which is awesome because they need that presence for the Holiday season. I predict a big sales spike.

Yeah, I'm super glad Switch is hitting saturation already. Way different scenario than the Wii back in 2006/2007... and just in time for Mario Odyssey to drop. I haven't been as hyped for games in years as I've been for Mario and Zelda this year. Unfortunately, I'm also finishing up college right now, so I have a bunch of exams to power through before I can truly enjoy Odyssey. But once those are done, I'm gonna have the time of my life- and it'll be more than enough content to tide me over until the Zelda DLC comes out, too, whenever that drops this year.

My only concern for the Switch right now is the 2018 lineup. Nintendo undoubtedly hit a home run with software this year, but next year looks a little light so far... a light looking Kirby and Yoshi title and not much else announced, right? If we could get a Bayonetta collection announced for 2018, and maybe something else like a new Donkey Kong Country or a release date for that traditional Fire Emblem they announced, then I'd be on cloud nine!

Mostly Bayonetta, though. I wanted the collection on Wii U when I had mine but missed the chance to get the edition with both Bayonetta 1 and 2 in the box, so I passed. Having both on one cartridge would be spectacular, but the Wii U games took up 32.2 Gigs of storage, so they'd need a bit of compression to fit on Nintendo's largest Switch cartridge.
