There's a rather long thread on the morals of KOs floating around here. Bobby Skullface did a video on the subject too.

Personally, I can't bring myself to buy a KO of a 3rd party figure. Before I bought the official Cupola I nearly bought the NO many, many times just couldn't do it.

On the other hand, buying a HasTak KO doesn't bother me at all.

I think their Grimlock is a little smaller than he should be, and the big fellas (Genesis and Apocalypse) are just sort of larger figures. I've still got my pre-order or the shiny Vulcun, but if I can get a matte one or an even larger one I'll spring for that. Depends on how big they make him.

Also, sometimes people just want BIG OLE' GRIMLOCKS. Scale is so varied as it is in the fandom, sometimes that's all it'll come down to.

Grimlock is huge in the game/story

This looks interesting but they'd need to make it have a huge improvement over Vulcan like better articulation, paint, plastic, and diecast

I knew the big ones weren't technically to-scale, because really, how could they be and still be feasible, haha. Just too huge. I don't have nearly as many PX figures as I'd like, but I always thought they did a good job. If this KO is the proper size then, though, I'd probably spring for it over the original to keep the scale consistent.

Been a while since I've played, and holy wow I did not remember him being that big. Now I get it, providing this upscale (if that's what it is) is putting it at that sort of size.

Well as part of the gameplay, Big G can pick up most enemies in one-hand and throw them around. He was enormous.

I really should've played FoC more :(  I played the everliving hell out of WfC, but for some reason Fall didn't get the same love. Wonder why. Came out close to when Halo 4 came out, so that could be it...

It’s an awesome game and watching the cutscenes alone is better than any Bay TF movie lol

The days are finally here where there can be a good KO. Hopefully this guy will be good quality and be OS.

Couldn’t agree more. It would be a bit of a dream figure come true for me as was Vulcun originally - when PX announced Jupiter and showed the size I was a bit deflated as Grimlock always needs to scale properly with Prime etc in my book

As cool as it would be to have a Grimlock THAT big, he would then pretty much throw the earlier figures from their line out of scale. Genesis and Apocalypse would need to be doubled or even tripled in size to make it look right.

Also the rest of the dinobots would need to be up-scaled too. He was taller than them but I wouldn't say double their heights.

If anything I would love to see a high quality oversized Caelus as he is way too small. I don't recall any versions of Swoop that was the same sized as Bumblebee...

Just upscale this guy to MP size, and I'll buy him as long as the QC is good. Upscale them all to that size, and I'll buy them all.

My wallet hates me sooooo much lately.

The second picture is a bit different because all Titan class characters were same size in robot-mode. So in MP, Grimlock's body and Megatron's body are the same when it's clear G is bigger.

I already own Vulcun, and would enthusiastically welcome an upscale KO. Right now, Wrath is my CHUG Grimlock and he’s terrific; however, you can’t beat that FOC dino mode!

Yeah I was just showing the rough heights of the dinobots based on the source material being the game

This is why I have no respect for hasbro. They don’t care about the transformers. It’s just a quick buck to them! The 3p companies act like these characters are their babies which I stand behind. I said before in another thread that I’m happy to support ip theft in the case of transformers cause who really owns these characters? I’ll tell you who. Us, the fans. We love this shit with all of our hearts. People say “if it wasn’t for hasbro then we wouldn’t have it to begin with” I agree with that sentiment but even so, they did it for a quick buck back then too.

It wasn't even Hasbro's original IP. They belonged to Takara with their Diaclone and Microman range. Even then it was seen as a quick cash grab franchise by Hasbro cause Diaclone toys were so popular in Asia.

Sure we owe the final versions of the characters to Hasbro but I agree with you. If it wasn't for the fans hasbro would have just dumped the line and moved onto the next popular thing.

Happy with my Planet X Grimlock.... I use him with the original Hasblow Takara FOC transformers and he scales (I use this word very loosely so please, don't go into the nutty scale/size comparison debate) perfectly with them.
Don't think I'll need this upsized KO.
