It's decent. The alt-mode would be fine w/a remolded beast head.

While talking about 3rd party upgrades, I really want bigger wings for he and Doublecross. Not massive, just about 20-30% bigger.

I don’t have mine on hand at the moment, how are the wings and beast head attached? Pins I assume? Basically how hard would it be to replace the parts?

Wings are easy - just tabbed in. The head is two pieces - the lower jaw is pinned (although there might be one place you could pop out a tab), the neck, upper jaw and head are pinned to a white pivoting piece, but there is a screw attaching the head/neck to the white pivot piece on could pretty easily remove. That'd mean keeping the blue neck and red lower jaw, most likely, for a hypothetical part replacement

Might have to make a few suggestions to a friend of mine that makes parts, see if he’s interested in doing some fangry pieces or larger wings

Chances are better that Hasbro-Takara simply will come back to the TR gimmick after POTP. I mean look at POTP, all the stuff Hasbro missed for CW like terrorcons/predacons got made. And I believe Warden said he knows about people desire for some of the headmaster characters missing from TR like Apeface.

This should clear up any questions about weapon storage:

And, because I didn't see anyone else post them, the tech specs:

This might just be my new favorite TR deluxe figure...

And he and Twinferno work quite well as a sort of Royal Guard to Alpha Trion... flanking him on either side on my shelf... all sharing that fantastical animal theme but with rigid G1 elements as well as complimentary color schemes. I can't recommend displaying those three together enough.

Yeah, I dig that idea... I've got mine with Repugnus right now, but they could all go with him and make it still work. Repugnus is like a small bug guy that people wouldn't even notice snooping around.

Gah...I feel for ya, DoubleClouder. Sadly, you're right that you probably won't have any luck asking for replacement parts.

Not sure if this will make you feel any better but you're not the only one with this problem. I've heard of at least one other person who's Grotusque was missing parts.

I got shafted on my TRU.com MP Starscream release from a couple years back as it was missing the fingers on one of his hands. Hasbro said that they don't stock parts for their products...and from a supply chain perspective, I can see how the management of these parts could be vastly more difficult and costly than just going through the return process.

What they're missing is that collectors like us won't accept a replacement of whatever shelfwarmer they have kicking around the warehouse.

As their prices go up and up and as collectors represent a larger and larger portion of their customer base, this may change. For now, let's just hope that you can find another for retail price...one so you can return the one you have.

Got my Grotusque in today, so glad to add him to the classics shelf next to Doublecross and Repugnus, who would have ever thought that he would get such a premium treatment, it's amazing!
Titanmaster Scorponok head is on Botcon 2014 Scorponok with some Headrobots 3rd party upgrades. A bit too small and doesn't peg in at all.

Had to lean TR Scorponok forward a little since his diecast face makes him backheavy.

I was lucky enough to find two sets, one for Scorponok and the other for a custom Black Zarak :)
