Yeah. the box shapes are throwing me a for a loop too. Should be interesting to see what they turn out to be, and I kind of like the fact hasbro kept a few surprises back like this.

Likely some terrible idea, aimed exclusively at kids, hyped up to impress idiots who think a "talk box" is new technology.  
The very use of that ad word, "Igniters!" is cause for alarm.   Again, the title will impress you more than the actual product!    

 

Isn't an El Bee a little heavy for the usual materials we play with? That suggests some electronics or alloys.

 

Seems like it. Or some form launcher set for 19.99.
Looking at the names: Nitro would seem like some kind of booster set/launcher.
While Speed and Power are based on some kind different types the booster/launcher type can use. Like some kind of botshots or die-cast car crashing type dynamic, or even beyblade similar. Not sure.

With a name like "igniters" it suggests some thing to do with supercharging energon, or like the spark bot race cars that had sparks shooting out the back. Based on the pack types, it does seem like some form of sub-game attached to the play dynamic possibly. But Speed and Power were also used for the Generations boxsets too. So there is the offchance this could correlate to generations somehow as action figure types for power masters or minicons with the nitro set being how they 'energon ignite'. The price difference between speed and power suggests a size difference too. That speed sets are streamlined, while power sets are bulkier, but both can interact with nitro sets.

The cheaper price point though also suggests something smaller than 4'' figures. That's much closer to Legion/Titan/Prime master pricing.

 

Whatever is is, you can bet it will suck.

 

We'll know at Toyfair.

 

At the very least the prices aren't as absurd as those Allspark box guys. $20 for and overrides Legion class with a big empty space in its torso. Hell yeah.

 

I like how Hasbro is sorta promoting pyromania with that title!    

"Hey, Dad! What does "igniters" mean?"
"Oh, that's just when you light something on fire, son!  "

April 1st is the default amazon date for "We don't know the exact date but it's before this day." That's why they use the April fool's day date. So should be much sooner than that.

 

Really want to see what these are. They sound so interesting.
