In fact with the revival of Encore line, I was thinking maybe we'll get a Grand Max reissue this time round given that they could look into reusing the Pretender shell as part of the package for him.

 

Maybe they want it to stay super collectible for some reason.

Between this, Ginrai and Overlord is seems that Masterforce is finally getting some much needed attention. Too bad they're mostly super expensive and/or exclusives though... And the Headmaster Juniors are all without Transtectors...

 

Of course you have the right. It's what I do all the time. However, the options for this character are pretty good right now, so the extent of complaining isn't really that high, is it?

 

Maybe, but for someone like me who's not into 3P and doesn't consider them alternative options it comes down to the official being good/affordable enough. Since I only buy what Hasbro and Takara put out I criticize them for what they got wrong / praise them for what they get right and then either buy the figure or not.

Greatshot's a pass for me, but if someone else really needs this character in their collection then yeah, having all those options is great. I don't really collect for completion; I just buy what I like. I believed that if Takara would put out Greatshot I'd be into it, turns out I'm not, bummer, moving on.

 

Anyone know what date preorders will be going up?

 

Now I want Takara to give us a Sixknight to go along with this Greatshot and Hasbro's Quickswitch to complete the trifecta.

Preorders are already up on Takara Tomy Mall and have been for a day or two as of this post. For other retailers that sell limited TT Mall exclusives, I'm not sure, you'll need to check their sites.

I think HLJ might have discounted prices in regards to EMS. As I'm sure it's going to be more expensive with a proxy service unfortunately.  

The mold is definitely not destroyed. What with the recent Pretender Megatron release.

Not to bash 3P, but I honestly don't think the first two heads look all that good.

The official one certainly looks good on its ow (without the helmet). I do wish we had a better image of it with the helmet on (as it's rather small on TakaraTomy Mall's website).

It is a shame these are exclusives and not massed released at mass retail pricing . These look great and I want more of these caharacters to be in as many peoples hands as possible

You know besides the massive amount and variety of QC problems Encore Fort Max had.

 

There's still the problem of demand. Encore Fort Max wasn't a hot seller, and the problems with production costs and QC issues seems to be one of the biggest reasons the Encore line went on a nearly five year hiatus after his release.

 

That's what I'm hoping for as well! BBTS, please come through!
