    "Her".

Slider is a girl in IDW continuity.

Thanks! I am really craving some new BW figures. Wish they would tackle some of these IDW ones in the generations line

Wait, so IDW has finally started using female-identifying TFs that literally look no different from male-identifying TFs ?

Man, it took a while, but they got there.

I\'m glad Slider looks unfeminine. Strika looks rather unfeminine in Beast Machines and they always commented that she was \" very beautiful\"

This is paradise. Not because I'm against distinctly femine proportions used for female characters, but because I dislike the concept of physical gender depictions amongst an alien robotic race that doesn't reproduce nor have any biological need or desire to find a partner.

I've read every issue of this book, and still have no idea why I have to keep reading about any of these 2-dimensional "characters."

I know, right? I've been carrying that flag for years. My general preference would have been for TFs to remain totally genderless, so that organic cultural archetypes would just fly right over their heads... but at least unchaining gender identity (as nonsensical as it would be for Cybertronians) from overly stereotypical physical configurations is a step in the right direction.

Well, for a vehicon, what does "beauty" mean, anyway.

I feel like Strika is a slightly different example, simple because she's often given the "hulking" body type, which acts as an extreme deviation from most norms for TFs, male or female. In this case, Slider is basically physically identical to how "male" bots are depicted, which I think makes a lot of sense - since form follows function, and there is no function to Cybertronian gender (other than to make them just a bit more relateable to the audience).

Yeah, I hear ya. I dropped the Barber and Scott stuff ages ago because I just couldn't hack the clumsy writing. Then, when MTMTE ended, I didn't jump back on Lost Light right away because I felt like the the writing had declined.

I just poke my head in here every now and again to see if something's changed for the better. :)

Lol I dropped OP after issue 5 because I could not stand Barber's scripting and plots anymore. I dropped TAAO after issue 9 because I was frankly quite bored of it (and the Onslaught/Blast Off thing to me was fanfic-levels of ridiculous). I'm only reading Lost Light still and even then I've found it painfully boring (Anode and Lug are both horrible). I've only stuck around for the Mutineers arc, and if that's a letdown I'm dropping out of that too.

Yeah, I just brought myself up-to-date with what's been going on in Till All Are One, and I have to agree. It's hard to believe that I'd be disappointed with a Combaticon-focused storyline, but man... talk about convoluted. Not a fan of the characterizations at all.

it's sad when the most touted quality of transformers books is their forward-thinking gender identity and sexuality policy.

I'd get my hopes up for all these obscure characters getting some form of depth, but I know it's just gonna be setting up for some big reveal about their "tortured psyche/sexuality/gender identity. It's boring. That is fanfic level.
