Bear in mind you will have to pay freight when the item arrives at the forwarder. The Taobao model is retailer --> forwarder, postage paid with item. Forwarder --> you, additional postage. Good practise is to always message retailer to see if they have stock first. Taobao allows purchases and payment for items that aren't in stock. It can take 3 weeks for refunds to occur. This is a hassle but it's the way it is.

 

Stay on watch for your item. It takes 2-3 days for your package to arrive at the Chinese border in Guangdong Zhongshan. You do not get emailed notification either. When it's ready, the status will say: "Arrived at Warehouse" and will show a button that allows to you pay.

Thanks for the tips. It cost me less than 60 bucks so if it isn't in stock, I can wait for that refund. I read that forum after buying so I am aware I still need pay the forwarder. Hopefully I get this right.

Just saw the post about the claws. My package hasn't arrived at the warehouse and these claws are on a different seller. Any tips on how I can purchase them and get them sent along with the first order by the warehouse?

 

Anything shipped to the warehouse can stay there for 30 days I think. It only ships when you pay shipping. Your profile will show a countdown in number of days left.

With that in mind just buy the claws, and anything else for that matter, wait for them all to arrive at the warehouse, then pay the combined shipping. Easy as pie.

I'm not buying the claws yet, waiting to see if my upgrade kit included them or not. If they don't I'll add claws to another future set of purchases.

 

I heard the claws were avialable in two shades of grey and that most places sell only the lighter ones that match the Feral Rex and not the darker tone of Nero rex...

That said the pictures on Akliexpress are confused on that point they show a Nero claw set that matches then show a bagged shot where they look paler colored.

Would be easier if they were just offered with the main set and that this was clearly stated as such - I can't see anyone at all on ebay even selling them at all. (just the standard upgrades).

Has anyone got the claws when they bought on ebay - one would think someone like Show Z would have them at least ?

 

If looking for eBay sellers that might have it, I would reach out to hz hzj401 on eBay as he's been quite responsive in the years I've purchased from their eBay shop.

He also has a listing where you can request items, as everything he has for sale isn't listed. A message with some pics of your unique request amongst the differing grey shades you've seen, might end up in you finding he has what you want... or maybe not, but worth a shot.

On Taobao, you will not get an email confirmation on anything. You have to have the AliChat function and it will send you messages via AliChat when your items arrive at the warehouse and when to pay. The AliChat is the same thing that you use when you contact the sellers.

My Feral Rex claws arrived today but they look slightly darker. Can anyone comment on whether they should completely match the colour or have a Feral and Nero Rex that they can compare hands against to see if they get a similar shade to my pic?

I'm wondering if I got Nerox Rex claws by mistake.

 

Mine are a little darker. They also will fall right off when messed with.

Don't know why they made them to slide through?

 

Mine are a good snug fit so no qualms there. So you have a Feral or Nero? Not sure if you mean your Feral claws are darker or the Neros are darker. Thanks

 

The darker claws are for the Nero. I think they may be all that's available now. I ordered a set a while ago from TF-Direct, who were the only ones I found selling them at the time, and specified I wanted the lighter claws since they said they had both. They sent the darker ones. Fortunately, I don't mind the 2-tone look. I've also considered painting them either silver or gold. I also don't have any problems with them slipping off, so that's just a QC issue. It should be able to be fixed with some furniture polish or other thickener.

About, the customisation: firstly to say: as soon as you start changing

1. things to a product it will no longer be the same: meaning the end

will posses different quality attributes then the original. In this mod. I
used spray paint acrylic. Meaning it sticks to the plastics, but..
unfortunately it's not as good as the paint they normally use. It's a bit
sensitive to scratches. So yeah right tips, the paint cost me €3.- per
spray can.

1. Ok more tips.
   1. Make use of a template; so you know what the goal/end product will be.
   2. Plan before execution; first organize, they only execute. Use fases.
   Like a goal a time.
   3. Make sure you have the right tools, like the big outside (ventilation).
   Protection, a painter mask, glove, and goggles (whatever you can afford). Ok
   the sizes to paint might be like... thrust me i don't need all the safety
   stuff.. -gradually you might be adding layer after layer of paint.
   4. Know how to take the bot apart without causing damages, using the right
   tools. Like right size screwdriver. And an automatic punch (for pins).
   5. While taking apart, take pictures of every unique occurrence. So you'll
   know how to reassemble your bot. Also screws and pins (because they might
   vary in lenght and type).
   6. Store, each bot separate. Including all pins and screws.
   7. Paints. To achieve white. First black layer, then white.
   Like some paints colors are showing more of the base color. White on red =
   stays pink...
   8. I made use of playing cards, sticky putty. Double adhesive tape. You can
   easily spin the object. - barbeque size skewers, also to spin the object +
   leave to dry ..styrofoam block.

Ok thus far, .. if you'll be needing more of my tips. Just ask.. i also may
have some additional pictures of the custom project.
