I'm gonna need to save this, it's gonna come in handy many times.

 

Wow, wasn't expecting this. I could see Hasbro doing Greatshot, they haven't hesitated recently on several Masterforce and Victory characters (which is awesome). But Grand Maximus - clearly, no way. Glad we're getting the pretender mold in Cloudburst.

Oh WOW! Greatshot is a MUST HAVE for me!!

 

First, it was Legends Kup. Then, it was the Clones and the Autobot Targetmaster buddies. And now, it's fucking Greatshot. My Christmas(and birthday) wishlist is going to be full of Takara this year. This is too much for me, man ;-;

EDIT: Also, just speculating but if FM had the Headmasters theme played by Cerebros, could they perhaps have the theme for Victory in this figure? I'm just wondering

I am totally agreeing with you, especially with Greatshot’s deco.

 

Masterforce theme surely?

 

Grand Maximus was a Masterforce character, so more likely he'd have the Masterforce theme. Which I hope he indeed will.

 

I hope Grand Max sells well enough to open the door for g2 Devastator, Metrotitan, and Gigastorm.

 

Greatshot looks amazing.

 

Greatshot is a definite buy for me. Not sure about Grand yet. Finding space would be a challenge!

The face seems might be the same one from TR Quickswitch, with a new crest but it's hard to be sure....

 

Definitely a different face. Check my avatar, Quickswitch doesn't have his lips quite as pursed.

 

For a brief moment I felt sad to think that these Pretender shells are gonna be so small, unlike the original toys or anime and comics appearances. But then I realized that the "Decoy shells" would actually fit so well into the Titan Masters and base modes play pattern of TR.

 

Too bad it still isn't colored like Jack, but I'll take what I can get.

Man, Grand Maximus looks amazing, but the whole pre-order incentive for the Pretender shell thing is really gross. I'm not very happy that even TakaraTomy aren't immune to those sort of business practices. Still, at least it isn't really a pre-order exclusive. Not in the usual sense, anyway. I didn't get Legends Fort Max, mainly because I have the G1 toy and wanted a repaint first, and though this isn't Brave Max, Grand Max with a Pretender shell is arguably even better.

EDIT: Oh, they're Tomy Mall exclusives? Ugh. I can't afford to pay up-front for that pre-order. That's just lame. Stop it with all the damn Tomy Mall exclusives, TakaraTomy. You keep asking people to pre-order in the thousands to make these things viable, and it hardly ever works. Sell them at mass retail in smaller numbers and these will actually sell.
