If FP made the other 3 combaticons, they would have absolutely KILLED it! The figures would have been amazing! No doubt in my mind at all.

Where it would have been a challenge, and more than likely a failure, would be the combiner joints and ports/connection points. That’s pretty much the downfall of most crappy combiners that are being released to this very day.

The extra weight that these critical junctures must support are crucial to ALL combiners, and the tech and understanding of how to compensate for bearing that load would have been a tough puzzle to solve. Especially at the very conception of the combiners craze.

Failure could have stunted the entire genre or even put the death nail in the coffin, considering how many crappy combiners had come down the line beforehand.

 

What a great shot. While I don't have the Quantron, this does sure give incentive to procure one.

After playing around with the Transformission combiner it really shows how much of this one FP got right. Need to break this guy out and play around with it again.

 

Not matter how dated it is, Colossus is "3rd Party Hall of Fame" worthy!!!

 

So I am only allowed to "crap" out opinons favorable to the majority? I think not. I'll state it again. It's my opinion, that others agree with it or not is irrelevant. It's not like I am forcing my PoV down anyone's throat. Nor do I treat my opinions as the end all - be all of opinions. I recognize that, especially with how varied people can be on these boards, many opinions will be thrown out here. One doesn't need to agree with certain opinions to understand it. I welcome the differences and diversity. At times it can bring a different or new insight on a matter, even if one doesn't agree with it.

To me, FP should have pioneered more from Colossus. I truly believe that had they done so, we would have seen more than Intimidator from them. That's why, to me, in the overall scheme of things and despite how great the set was in itself, Colossus failed (not financially, but bigger picture-wise). Alas, this is MY personal thoughts on the matter. No one has to accept it. No one has to agree with it. And no one should think any less of anyone else for agreeing or disagreeing with it.

 

You would never have seen more than Intimidator from FP in that regard and it has nothing to do with the success or failure or Colossis or of Intimidator, it is just how things go in 3P at times.

Both of those sets went as far as possible with the people involved with the company at that time and to the full extent of their abilities.

 

I think people would agree that it would have been awesome if FP had released a full set for Colossus (5-bot combiner). Would I have bought it? Surely! Though, it is what we have/had and it's still an awesome upgrade set. I still love my FP combiners.  

 

actually they do... though the inner half is separate and is stationary for a better connection, like thrilling 30's Hoist/Trailbreaker.
But I'll get him as soon as possible (tonight/tomorrow) if you want more specifics. Fansproject "Wildrider" FTW!!
A little surprised how small these guys are... maybe ROTF scout-sized.

 

Not gonna lie, I would totally buy new figures for the remaining three, if they did, even at this point in time. However, if it was just one figure, then give me a decent Brawl.

 

Agreed, if FP decided to make the remaining three, I'd pick up this set in a heartbeat. Even back then several people asked them to do this.

Oh well ...

 

I think it would make so much more sense for FP to just redo the entire set (make 5 new bots) instead of just replacing the 3 Has-baticons. I do still love the Explorer and Munitioner molds but I think I would be more interested in seeing how FP could improve upon them and the combiner hands, feet and joints/articulation.

And while they are designing a new Bruticus, why not just go ahead and give us a new Superion as well?

TFSource has T-Bone and Car Crash, and I found some of Last Chance on another site.
I just got T-Bone on sale on TFSource... the only guy I don't think you can get is Down Force.
I probably can't afford to get the whole set right now though. Hopefully they'll stick around.

 

I think it would be great if FP re-released this set. I really like the aesthetic and the size class.

 

Nah... I'd rather they release the G2 versions...

If I were you I would keep them that way! This set of Stunticons are becoming a real classic!

 

If they released this set again in a box set, I'd be forced to go all in...again.

 

This and/or do a Masquerade set (Necio's digi IIRC).






Though it is a shame that FP didn't follow through after releasing Kar Krash.
