You need to get an exacto knife and shave off some of the peg. It didn't fit for mine either, sadly.

Just rub some fine grit sandpaper around each of the posts until they fit. Simpler to do, less dangerous, and keeps the peg rounded.

I just to finish my toys, it is cool. I used the CW for TDW. I love them.

How tall are they compared to other combiners? It's a little hard to tell from the pics.

(Sorry in advance for the bad quality pics. My real camera doesn't work right now)
So. I have made my own solution to the shoulders unclipping in combined mode: [IMG] [IMG]
In Firetruck Mode the custom piece fits quite snug in the recess behind the lights. If you put the guns in this configuration it's even better.
    [IMG] [IMG]
In bot mode it doesn't look terribly great. But hey, Hotspot already has a backpack anyway. If i ever get around to actually finishing this piece, i'll make it into some sort of handheld weapon for bot mode.
And finally, combined mode, what it was made for. This piece I've created provides just enough tension that with regular movements, the shoulders do not unclip from the chest piece. Now, if you apply too much force it could unclip (or break the custom piece) But that only happens if you twirl the limbs around like a merry-go-round.

The C+ Kit does look nice. But it's not for me. I like to have my bots looking good in all modes. The C+ kit is good if you're going to just leave it combined on the shelf. The huge chest piece looks absolutely horrible when it's not in the combined form.

The DW kit is, well, OK. The only really good thing about it is the leg fix. They did nothing to try to fix the shoulder problem. Honestly, i just need the leg fix at this point and i'll be happy.

There's my 2 cents and my fix. Let me know what ya'll think of it!
(If anybody gets the DW kit and doesn't want it i'll take the leg bits :] )

Can someone take a picture of the underside of Hotspots truck mode? I can't seem to get the legs to collapse all the way, so I am hoping I can see a picture of what it should look like.

Time for an update on the shoulder fix! The images on my last post apparently didn't work, but i think i know why. Without further ado, here's what it looks like now! (sorry for the bad lighting and whatnot)

In truck mode it can sit snugly atop the back where the ladder pivots. It sort-of pegs in. It can also rest on the midsection just under the pegged-in cannons. Admittedly I wish it could be stored better.

It is now also a weapon!!! As you can see, I have added a 5mm peg to the piece so it can be used as a weapon in hot spot's bot mode.
It has several different possible configurations:
And of course, the reason it was made was to secure the shoulders. Now, to be fair, it IS possible for it to break off whilst in play. But you'd have to be moving the arms really fast and in opposite directions at the same time to really break it. I have strengthened it up a bit. Partially by enforcing it with some other pieces.
As you can see, there are 4 holes in the back of it. These can be used to store weapons! Weather of the limbs or the core Hot Spot.
So, there you have it. If i had the skills, i'd create this on some 3d modeling program and put it up on shapeways. This is still the biggest flaw in this figure and none of the 3rd Party Companies have made a fix for it. Hope you enjoyed this little update!

Man, I really wish they would release a set for Victorion and Megatronia already. I'm dying to spend money on this set but my Defensor is fine as is now (using the OS KO).

So... I know this is unlikely, but is there anyone with the set who would be willing to part with the hands and feet?
