I'd just be happy with two swords, one metallic red and one silver with "Slag, Swoop, Snarl, and Sludge" carved into it.

I am interested in this as I want the Scavangers. Really wish MMC didn't announce this guy first though. In fact, I'm not considering the purchase until I see some indication that the rest of the Scavangers are coming, I don't need a lone IDW Grimlock or another collection of Dinobots. I don't even feel like I need him to complete the Scavangers, he's more an accessory in my mind.

Plus, the removable tail feels like lazy engineering to me, but at least it stores in robot mode I guess.

 

I think pulling off the articulation in the tail itself will be quite the engineering feat. And with having all those joints like that, they'd end up needing to find a spot in bot mode for it just to hang from in one piece anyway.

 

Is this accurate to IDW ?

 

If ever they do, I hope it's released according to who has the least available mainstream figure. So that's gonna be Fulcrum first, then Spinister, then Crankcase, and either Krok or Misfire.

 

He didn't get announced because we wanted him to he got leaked and then mmc was forced to make him official way wayyyy earlier than was planned. Chances are he may very well have been canceled without anyone here having known he existed. And he might take so long to wrap up you literally might get one of the scavengers before he does haha.

Eh kinda, cassy took many of his usual liberties, ideally he'll be far more accurate by the time any of you guys see him again.  

 

Really have no interest in a BW Megatron from this as he wouldn’t fit in with anything else. Much too short to fit in with MP’s or any of the 3P’s like PE Gorrira etc. He’d be a stand-alone without any matching companions.
At least as IDW Grimlock we can hope that MMC at least approximates a correct scale.

 

I'm hoping he'll get the Alpha and Stray treatment for the final product.

You heard it here folks! MMC just officially announced that they're doing the Scavengers!

I disagree. Gorira is fantastically scaled to any potential transmetal designs mmc does. An ultra sized TM1 megs would look very nice next to him and pe's dragon megs especially and even takara's s1 mps. One of the very reasons I would love to see mmc make tm1 megs is precisely because of how nicely I think he's going to look next to pe and takara's figures. Goodness knows why you think they wouldn't when MP Primal is a voyager and mp cheeter a tall deluxe.   That's the exact size range difference their should be between season 1 bw characters and season 2 bw characters like megs. I'm sure its not "perfect' but it'd be close enough I'd be quite happy with the results myself.

 

So what kinda size is he occupying here. I assume at least tyrantronus size?

 

@LazyAza is mmc going for the classics grimlock chug transformation or the g1 type transformation? I'm really hoping it's the latter. Please please give him a mean ab crunch, waist swivel, ridiculous ankle rocker and a really high front kick for excellent poseability.

 

If these images are anything to account for then yes, his transformation will be based off the standard grim style

 

He transforms in a very traditional manner, robot arms are the dino legs, robo legs formed out of the second half of the dino etc.

I dunno what features or changes the design will end up with last I heard he wasn't going to be as heavily revamped as I'd hoped and Griffith I think is the one re-doing the heads n whatnot now.

Yup i was concerned when they showed off the tail. That classics transformation is a deal breaker.

 

Overall I think it looks pretty good but I hope they can do something with the Dino legs hanging off the back of the forearms, they just look so unwieldy and I think they would hinder the pose-ability of his arms.
