Thanks for the info on this. Unfortunately, I don't have the Siege set. Darn remodel, and unforeseen life expense just keep taking away my disposable expenses, sigh. Oh well, I will keep working on it.
So the Super Nintendo is out and everyone is hoarding them. Shocking. I would like one this time Nintendo...and not a $200-$300 version.
Yeah, they increased production AND they're re-releasing the NES classic. Give it a little bit. I think we'll probably see a few more late this month/early next month. I mean, heck, MST3k fan grabbed his from Target.
My Dragonstorm arrived from Amazon minus instructions. Normally not a problem except this guy's a duocon so I'm not exactly where sure where to start breaking this guy apart.
Time to go to Youtube, I guess. >< Mine gets here today and if I have a moment, I'll take some photos of the directions
Optibotimus' review came in handy. The only odd part is the initial split, once you've got the two halves separated things flow pretty naturally from there. I'm actually really impressed with how the two parts come together. Aside from the colors there's nothing that immediately suggests there are two robots in there, and while I don't see any specific pegs that hold Stormreign in place he fits snuggly inside Dragonicus. That said, who's ready for a half-assed review? This is the *first* mainline TLK figure I've bought (won't be counting Infernicus). He makes me want Steelbane/Skullitron, and I'm excited to crack in to this Scorn I've still got in box on the floor. That said, this figure is definitely all about the dragon mode. Once you split them, Dragonicus feels like a real figure. He's solid with good articulation and if you want can be a makeshift Bayformers Doublecross/Twinferno. Stormreign on the other hand? Oof. He's a figure who looks amazing from the front but awful form literally any other angle. This is mostly because his back is made up of a solid panel that forms Dragonstorm's lowerback. Unfortunately it does not rotate, so instead of the nice molded detail forming his armor, you get a hollow plate that doesn't really lock in anywhere. This also leaves his shoulders a bit loose, but you can leverage it to get a bit of personality in his poses. That said, they look good together. And for $50 I don't feel nearly as ripped off as I did with AoE Lockdown. If you think of Dragonstorm as the robot mode things make a lot more sense and you'll have a great display piece. The only knock on dragon mode is his front arms don't have much length to them. So he's left "slanted" down from the back. The upside is all three necks are robot arms, so they've got the shoulder, elbow, and bicep swivel to work with. This lets you balance the slanted back with some diverse neck poses. Moreso than TR Doublecross. Also, despite what initial rumors/announcements suggested...these guys do *not* have individual dragon modes. At least not purposefully. Stormreign forms the middle head, lower back, and tail. This means when he's separated from the full dragon he's got a *huge* opening on his upper back where the robot head and spare arm are tucked away. Dragonicus could *kind of* pass for a two-headed dragon, but not something I'd expect to see sold individually. Ultimately, calling these guys "voyagers" is generous. They're that big, but not nearly as complex or solid as past voyager figures. You'd feel ripped off paying $30 a piece. $50 feels okay, but it's still really pushing things knowing what's coming for the same price in PotP. Don't play inflated prices for this guy.
Did yours have the problem with the cracking jaw/tongue or whatever that I had heard about? Prolly not since you didn't mention. Also: OPEN SCORN HE IS SO GOOD.
Wait what? The review mentioned there were "issues" but he didn't seem to have any and pointed out that there are *tons* of ties and bands holding the figure in. (Each dragonhead has one around the jaw, which is dumb.) He was saying as long as you carefully cut those the heads should be fine. Not gonna lie. Was waiting to see how I felt about Dragonstorm before deciding if I was going to keep Scorn. Since I like him so far I think that's tonight's project during the Twins game.
I've heard legends, but I thought you couldn't get it in the real world!! Since I already have Skullitron, I'd maybe get Steelbane. Kinda floppy, but a fun mold all the same. Dragonstorm's pretty cool! I wish there was slightly more effort to hide some of the big dragon chunks, and some of the robot proportions are kinda bizare, but overall, there aren't a lot of TFs like him (were skidz and mudflap the last ones that did the two-bots-one-car thing? I forget), so he's a fun addition.
Has anyone seen trypticon in the mist cuz im still on the hunt for it. I been looking everywhere for it.
I can't remember when, but I know I've seen him at both Minnetonka and Bville TRU. Probably not for like a month or so, though?
I was there yesterday @ burnsville and didny see anythin but the normal stuff pluss they still had 3 mpm OP left
Don't they charge tax though? I ordered mine through bbts cuz I already have a pol sitting, no tax which is nice.
