No deals at all except on loose hasbro stuff.

I heard dealers declining "hey it's marked 20 I'll give you 15 cash" offers. D.C. Is an expensive city, bots included

I managed to get my kid through the previews panel & some of the costume contest. (I'll be nice about the hostess and say little.)

Then we ransacked the dealer room for last minute buys. I found everything I COULD want but little I DID want. Being a parent means turning down the $110 exclusive you'd disown your nephew over. There was enough "never saw THAT on the shelf" stuff to part me with some coin and I didn't find the prices unfair. (Though they could have been better bought, I'd get something from one dealer, then find it cheaper at another later on. D'oh!)

Only real heartbreaker was my son wanted Quickswitch (which, having had the original G1 toy did not elicit fond memories) I talked him out of buying it early on, I wanted him to consider all his options before dropping all his money. Can you believe it sat all morning until we went to buy it. The guy was right in front of us. Bad dad award. But life goes on and he got 3 toys by the end of the day.

I had a good time but next year either my wife comes or I'll go alone.

Also I apologize to James Roberts for shouting out, "Roberts, you magnificent bastard!" I think the only part he heard was 'bastard', and I don't know if he knew that was a bit of a catch phrase/meme on the review boards.

He also seemed so shy. Amazing writer, poor public speaker. Love you anyway James.

This is the first hobby convention I have ever been to, and the experience was great! I took my 7 & 4 year old sons, so I couldn't do certain things like speak at length with fellow fans or sit through panels, but it was so awesome being able to see so many toy lines in one place! Showing my boys the G1 versions of characters was really cool, and then seeing the modern representations really showcases how far toy designs and engineering have come. Also, seeing certain figures in person instead of viewing a picture online really makes a difference. MPM-04 (a figure I've been sitting on the fence about getting) looks fantastic in person! Also, kudos to my boys for not minding getting open box figures instead of minty fresh ones was nice. They were reasonably priced and they got the same joy as they would've with an unopened version :)

My first TFCon, had a great time, nice meeing tbs from the boards here for the first time and seeing Big Filipino who I knew from Botcon 2014-2016. Short trip though as I flew in overnight Fri arrived Saturday morning and had to leave that same day, so no time for sightseeing in DC unfortunately. Hope everyone got home safe!

I had a fun time! I went with my friend who debuted her Bumblebee costume. Even though she didn't win the contest I thought it was very good! There was serious competition this year though!

Honestly the fact that we came in Thursday and left Monday really helped, because we could see the local sights of the city before the con and hang out with all the friends we made after the con.

I thought it was super strange that the convention space felt smaller than Charlotte and yet the ticket salesmen were boasting that this year's attendees have doubled in size. If you have more attendees than before, why get a SMALLER space? (And it showed. I didn't even buy anything because the dealer's room was so packed I didn't want to be in there at all.) I think the organizers were cheaping out this year with the con space and it showed.

Also, anyone else notice it was FREEEEZING? Why was the AC so on blast.
