I posted this a few days ago just above on this page and either everyone is ignoring me or doesnt like to talk to strangers... Im just looking for some shopping tips or advice.
I had something typed up the other day but I must not have hit post. As far as I know, there's nothing really big around here that sells Transformers outside of the big retail stores. In Ormond we have Cloak and Dagger and Blue Dragon but pretty much all of their stuff is comic/video game related. If you're in the area it's worth a look there but I don't think I've ever seen Transformers stuff there. If you decide to take a ride to Orlando while you're here there's Gods and Monsters who usually have something worth looking at. Maybe one of the other posters from Daytona might know something? I'd be curious to know if there's some shop hidden somewhere I've never heard of.
thank you so much TNJ!! I gave Gods and monsters a call and will be giving them a visit once we get the chance upon arriving. If anyone else has any tips or hidden places that sell said toys; please let me know! Thanks again my friend!!
Wave 5 Deluxes are indeed in Florida. I was at the Wal*Mart on John Young & Sandlake on my lunch break about an hour ago, and I grabbed the last Misfire and Twin Twist they had. They also got in four cases of TLK Wave 3 Voyagers. There were only 3 Nitros when I was there, but 4 Scorns.
I shared my find with a friend, and he confirmed grabbing a Twin Twist and Windblade at the Wal*Mart on OBT and Oak Ridge about 20 minutes ago. At the very least, they appear to be in Orlando
About 20 min from Daytona is DeLand, and a small hole in the wall comic shop called Cliff's Books. They've gotten in a mixture of modern and G1 figs. Call ahead, he doesn't always have them at his shop.
I went to the Sanford, Orange City, and Deltona/Osteen Walmarts tonight and there was nothing there. With that said, we probably won't see this in Seminoles or Volusia County for a while, if at all. Remember Sky Shadow ? Blink and you missed him.
I personally would not recommend Cliff's anymore (for figures at least). I grew up in Deland and he used to be THE place to get the old Star Wars figures, until one day I went in there to see what he had. He did not want to compete with the internet so that was that. What a sad day that was.
Really? Thats pretty sad dude... Maybe ill walk in there, flip him the bird, and walk right back out. Lololz!
It all depends on what people want to trade him any given day. ATM, he has a limited selection of TFs from combiner wars to G1. And for that I do recommend calling Cliff's I don't really understand why you'd recommend against a stand up shop owner like Cliff in this instance.
Florida Mall TRU clerk strongly recommended I return today if I wanted to check out new stock, after driving out earlier this week to discover that the entire TF section had been cleared and pulled into the stockroom. Sure enough, when I walked in there this morning.... they had a brand-new case of those exclusive deluxe TLK Megatrons! I almost died from the sheer joy. But then I was okay, and just left pissed off. Anyway, there’s a huge restock happening everywhere except boys’ action figures. Now’s the time to pick up the off-brand Nerf gun or peeing babydoll of your dreams. If there was anything decent on that stock truck, I’m sure it made it safe and sound to Mike’s Comics’ back door..
North Tampa Update: Target on Bearss/Dale Mabry had: 2 x Roadburn/Chase 1 x Gnaw 1 x Octane 1 x Broadside 1 x TR Voyager Megatron Random Wave 1-3 of TR deluxes
I have no problem with him personally, but his attitude at the time (and who knows, that may have changed) was one of disdain towards his very loyal customer that had thrown a lot of money his way on Star Wars merchandise. If he didn't want to compete with ebay, fine, so be it. I won't waste my time or money there anymore nor would I recommend anybody else.
It honestly sounds like you do have a personal problem with him. Ive never seen him treat any person with disdain. he's literally one of the most morally upstanding people I know. if anything, his own frustration was with every person that wanted to sell old Star Wars toys to him wants eBay prices from him. And he just cannot compete with that.
