Agreed, it's an amazing set. Despite whatever flaws the MtCombiner sets may have, I'm totally in love with the series. I truly hope MakeToys isn't done with this line and we see other gestalts such as Bruticus and Superion.

Hi guys! Wondering if anyone ever had an issue with Metalstorm's waist, and had to take the back assembly apart? I have the replacement pieces from Maketoys, but my issue isn't with the horizontal alignment of the waist, but rather the vertical. In other words, the ab-crunch joint is not aligned, and my Metalstorm tends to lean back too far, leaving a gap in his waist.

I think I could fix the problem if I could completely take the figure's back apart. There are six screws in Metalstorm's back, but when I remove them, his back remains in place. I don't know if I would have to use some force and pry it apart?...I've never tried that on a figure before.

Lastly, I reached out to Maketoys about the issue. They promptly replied within a couple days and said I could send $10 and they would send me a replacement part. I'm not entirely sure if they would just send me the horizontal waist piece or not.

Any help that you fine folks can offer is very much appreciated! Thank you!

Quick update. I found the problem, and solution, to my Metalstorm's vertical waist joint. Figured I'd post this in case anyone else ever has, or had, this issue.

So, I was able to take the back assembly apart by applying a little force to separate the two pieces that make up the torso, and then remove the slider mechanism for Metalstorm's head. One half of the ab-crunch/waist ratchet joint is molded into the bottom of the slider mechanism, and the other is a separate piece.

Thankfully, the replacement ratchet joint sent from Maketoys (or BBTS in my case), originally intended for the the horizontal waist joint, is actually the opposite (interlocking) piece from the vertical ratchet. In short, the teeth in my original ratchet piece are not aligned correctly to the slider joint. So all I have to do is use a micrometer to measure the diameter of the hole in the original piece, and drill a hole in the new piece. Easy as pie!

Still the best looking quantron to date. Just don't look at it from the side...

Well, it's kind of biased since it's the ONLY Quantron! (I'm just messing.)

Vs don't look at the Hastak version from the front with the chicken thighs? :p

I do like the official's simple transformation, but I can't get over the thighs. It works for Superion since the jets are slimmer, but not the Technobots as lower legs.

But I love the way Quantron looks combined.

They're finished. Maketoys has moved on to focus primarily on the Cross Dimension line and their mandatory MP-scale figures.

Which is a shame because they used to really do cool unique figures of characters we didn’t see too often. Now they’re just stuck on OP and Megatron just like every other 3P company on the face of the earth.

Was this actually confirmed or solid speculation? Cause if MT has permanently closed their MtCombiner series, there will be several upset fans about.

Well, if people wanted them to complete their MTCombiners, they should have convinced more people to buy them.

As bland as more MP, OP, and Megs figures are, that's what sells.

Solid speculation based on all available evidence. The older Guardia figures aren’t even getting new runs, which is making it really hard to get hold of their Groove and Streetwise, even though the other three are still readily available at most stores.

Smaller niche, man. Not everyone here is a MP-scale-only nutjob. That they got the MP crowd to buy their stuff with the direction they took is a no brainer, but those aren't their only fans.

In part, this is somewhat good news as it doesn't confirm that series' end officially on MTs behalf. However, if true, I (and several others) will be very saddened that we won't see a MtCombiner Bruticus nor Superion.

Then again, it's just like the rumours of FansProject's supposed death. This isn't like expecting Hasbro to put out new Machine Wars-branded toys on the shelves all of a sudden. While they're done with Combiners for now, there's always an opportunity to revisit the concept down the road, when they deem the market's right again.

Just got my solo Blindfire, and I got some replacement thighs with the fixed knees for combination. Anyone need em? I'm never going to complete quantron so I have no use for the pieces.
