Hands down Cosmos. Spends almost the entire series scouting in deep space, when there's nothing up there to find really. His bio even states he gets bored and lonely, spending his time playing in asteroid fields.
Well not just that, but also has a habit of constantly needing rescuing. Well at least in G1 cartoon. I think it's why people make jokes about him being useless. Now I only consider him the most useless Autobot in G1. Overall I at least find Cosmos to be better than the twins. Oh god those two characters were annoying. It's the reason why me and my brother dislike the second film so much.
Bayverse Hot Rod... Bay ruined my favourite character by making him French, have him come on to that woman in that sh*t film and give him a rubbish head that was similar to Bumblebee... also, he should've been red with flames on like most other incarnations of the character, but no, Prime had to have the flames.
I don't recall Hot Rod ever flirting with Vivian. The most I remember is him referring to her as mademoiselle which is a word the French use when usually addressing women. Besides the movie established he didn't enjoy the voice, he was simply stuck with it. While I found the movie to be decent at best, I think you're getting a tad bit too worked up over it. Besides this topic isn't about a character you hate (or version in this case) it's about who you think was the lamest in terms of abilities, usefulness, or status. Hot Rod in the film was pretty useful (when he was on screen), and really did how you would expect a Bay version of Hot Rod to be like. Kind of like how Bay Ironhide isn't quite like his other continuity counterparts. Though let's not get too off track since this isn't the movie forums.
As much as I dislike Anode, she's not technically an Autobot, right? Skids & Mudflap just plain suck. I'm not sure if they stand out due to them being so utterly and uncomfortably horrible in a fictional world that is already so absolutely bad or if they are just inconsequential factors of that backwords world. The fact that I love IDW Skids so much really pisses me off more. I'm biased against the Bayverse. I hate it so much. I don't mind G1 Wheelie so much. I like him in the comics well enough and it had been so long since I'd watched G1 that I'd forgotten him. I'm rewatching it now and I just see him as the comic book version. I also never managed to get through Energon but I've heard horror stories about Ironhide. I've seen a few worst Transformers lists and Ironhide seems to always come out on top. But these characters are just terrible and annoying by design. They aren't necessarily "lame". Lame to me implies something that should be cool but due to some ridiculous quirk, it becomes a the most terrible thing ever. You want lame? Computron, a combiner who's just worthless.
Hey, the Twins ex-machina'd the chamber of the Matrix or whatever. If they weren't fighting constantly, the movie might've been longer!
Zeta Prime from WFC was pretty damn lame. Couldn't even fight Megs up front and hid behind holograms and the tech in his chamber. Big mood.
Which Sludge? MV Sludge or G1 Sludge? Or was it Slog? Can't tell anymore, the creators change the dinobot names WAY to much.
Only one? Sorry, there's a few who can share the "honor". ROTF Skids & Mudflap IDW Drift Windblade Beast Machines Blightsqueak ... I mean Nightscream Wheelie OTOH was a little rhyming badass, so doesn't quality.
Why? Just asking, because I honestly felt Drift was a really good character. Also, not judging here because everyone's subject to their opinion.
