To be fair all of the cassette molds show the limitations of the small size mixed with the challenging animation models - especially when it comes to integrating the weapons on the animals. That is the only thing Ratbat really suffers from in my opinion - the poor weapons. I would prefer no painted cassette livery on the wings, but technically it is there on the animation model and I prefer he look good in cassette mode, a mode often neglected by other attempts at updating the cassettes.

 

I pretty much feel the same as Afterburner regarding Soundwave's 6 cassettes so far. If I had to rank them, however, Ratbat is actually my favorite of the 4 molds. I think his bat mode is terrific-looking. Like Afterburner said, it's just the affixed weapons are kinda weak. Then I'd say it's Frenzy/Rumble, since their weapons are detachable, which frees the figures up some in bot mode. Then Laserbeak/Buzzsaw, who are basically the same story as Ratbat, I just think Ratbat looks better than these two. For me, it's Ravage falling in last. His fixed weapons really hinder the mold some, and he just looks the weakest out of the bunch when in his panther mode.

Oh, thank goodness. I strongly dislike MP Ravage. He topples over at the slightest provocation, and any effort to make him actually look feline in a pounce or stalk pose results in hilarity, as his legs splay awkwardly and he looks like the lion pride (at the end of the Lion King) bowing to Mufasa.

 

Those will remain as an exclussive set right? Too bad, I could use stripes, but one alone doesnt justify the price tag.

 

one new mold (Nightstalker), a mold you probably don't have (Wingthing) and a repaint of a good mold (Enemy) don't appeal to you?

 

Personally speaking no.Except Stripes If I wanted to strech it, I could find a use for Nightstalker in a potential SG Deco of Blaster (yeah right....) but still too much of a cost.

 

suit yourself. i never had Ratbat, but the Ravage mold seems to be the weakest of the Masterpiece cassettes.

 

Meh, I want Stripes to go with TigerTrack. Ratbat I can get for a 5er the KO.

 

i want these but not at this price so waiting on the inevitable ko's , probably first and last time i will say that for an official mp

Yay, a few less days to wait  

 

Funny, I'm waiting for the cassettes to ship my POL anyway so this means that, delay or no, I'm getting my God Ginrai earlier than expected. Pretty happy to get these guys early too, I'm really looking forward to a new cassette mould and some cool repaints.

 

This is getting pretty close, wonder if we'll see some in-hand photos before the week's end.
