I decided to go ahead and sell the worse of my 2 Graflex 3 cell flash handles, figured I'd put a post here before adding it to my sales thread in a day or so. I will post more pictures in my sales thread when I add DSC00632.JPG DSC00633.JPG DSC00634.JPG DSC00635.JPG it.

Maybe it is the build of Ep 8, but I started thinking more about hilts and made the mistake of checking out ultrasabers and now I want like 4 of their hilts! Their sword of omens hilt is truly amazing and I love the multicolored dooku hilts as well. Argh why did I look! lol

I think at that Ultrasaber pricepoint you're better off with buying a SaberForge. For the same price of an Omen you could get one of SF's 10 different Apprentice hilts with no sound.

You are technically correct, in that there is a price difference, but I don't care for any of their apprentice hilts. They have some great elite hilts but those are the same prices as ultrasaber. So really they're both basically the same from that point of view.

I stopped looking for the same reason. To damn many I want. I've been drooling over the sword of omens from the first time I seen it.

Has there been any word(rumor or other wise) about any new BS sabers? There are some great prequel sabers. I can't think of any I wouldn't buy.

Yesterday I saw the BS Kenobi saber at Walmart of all places. Was really tempted as I have never owned the Kenobi but I am limiting myself to one saber of each color and already have the blue Luke (Anakin/Rey). Really wish they would announce a Windu re-release.

picked up the kenobi today out at target, not too bad with the redcard discount.

really nice copy of it. just one little paint defect in the top orange part of the hilt which I can probably fix if I find some matching paint.
just gotta make another wall mount for it now! nowhere to display at the moment.

I got the Kenobi lightsaber fairly recently and it's pretty flawless aside from the same slight scratch on the copper paint collar portion. Very happy with my purchase since the sound is louder than my other sabers and there's no slight wobble as in my ANH Luke Saber.

The new Black Series Force FX Rey saber is not surprisingly very similar to the Anakin/Luke except for the addition of rivets/screws near the pommel on each black vertical riser and the sliding activation switch appears similar to Kenobi's (with the faux exposed circuitry detailing). I never noticed the differences before but I guess Maz Kanata performed some repairs on it after the saber was recovered from Bespin following Luke's duel with Vader.

It actually had the rivets and different clamp card in ESB. The ESB and TFA versions are pretty similar though. From what i have read online the rivets were added to the prop after ANH because the grips kept falling off but don't quote me on that because i can't remember where i read it or if it is actually true. But they were present in ESB. I can't find a good screen shot from the movie but here is the old master replica one

Interesting. I stand corrected. I just assumed the differences were due to the saber having been repaired after Luke dropped it in Bespin (it was a looooong drop, or so it seemed). I can understand the rivets though I wonder why they changed the sliding activation switch (clamp card, was it? I'm not too familiar with all of the saber lingo).

Well, guess this means I have to track down a Rey saber for my OT saber OCD since the ESB and TFA sabers are so similar. :D

Yea the main difference between the TFA and ESB sabers are the ESB has 2 of those red buttons, and the TFA has 1 red button and a glass eye. The ANH had the red button and glass eye as well so the TFA was like a combo of both.
Here is a pretty good picture i found comparing the 3, esb in the middle and tfa at the bottom. they are pretty similar overall.

The ESB/TFA Graflex only has 6 rubber grips as opposed to the ANH version which has 7.
The ESB/TFA Graflex also has a different D-Ring setup than ANH.
The ANH Graflex has what's called the "beer tab" protruding from underneath the red button underneath the "bunny ears". This beer tab was absent from the ESB Graflex, and then present again on the TFA hilt.
The ESB Graflex has a thin strip of chrome tape that runs around the middle of the clamp.

    Sorry...I'm a Graflex nut.

Been browsing ebay for a while looking for a Prodigal Son again. Hoping my bid holds and doesn’t go up too much. Refuse to buy directly from Saberforge.

I took a look at the Facebook sales groups for you Haloid, looks like there's one available for $370 after shipping. I recall you saying you don't use facebook, but I think if you wanted to go for it we can set up me being the middleman for you. Did see one on eBay that's around $200 right now with possibly faulty wiring, not sure if you're going for it one or not but here's the link BROKEN Saberforge Prodigal Son Champion Saber Star Wars Luke Skywalker Veridian | eBay

Is the charger easy enough to get? Inquire about it if you would please. I’d PayPal you and then you can move it over to them if need be.

Office Halloween social and my Anakin/Sith costume were both successes. Coworkers brought their kids and we handed out candy after the pizza party. I brought my Black Series Force FX ANH Luke and Darth Vader lightsabers and the kids had fun killing me over and over again in duels, haha. Damn younglings!

Speaking of Saberforge Prodigal Son, man, I'm tempted to pick one up myself. I've always liked the look of the thin-neck sabers with their brass/copper collar fittings and green is probably my favorite saber blade color.

I was chatting up custom sabers with a MSgt that I work with at the office (he's a huge Star Wars nerd and has impressive displays for his collection that rival my Transformers shelves) and Primus help my wallet, I think I'm about to dive into the deep end of the custom saber pool. :D

If anyone is looking for an Ultra Sabers Archon V3 (ROTJ Luke thin neck), I've got 2 I'm looking to get rid of. Both have sound. One's got a few more upgrades than the other.

Got my sights set on this beauty (custom Saberforge Prodigal Son with Neopixel string LED blade and Arduino soundboard):

It just might be the best Birfmas present (well, aside from getting married on Christmas :D ). I'm already in contact with the customizer about adding LED lights to the arrows on the control box plus other extras.

    Impressive collection! Most impressive!
