Finally aquired wave 3 Deluxe Bumblebee to battle my Optimus! He is a really poseable figure with a lot of great sculpted details! I got the Dr. Wu waken hammer in anticipation, but got the wrong color of orange. Nothing some paint can't fix.
I modified his blaster to be for the right arm instead of the left and trimmed of a bit of his front bumper for bot mode. Now to paint him to match my Prime.

 

Just done some more touch up work on Drift due to seeing the blu-ray screenshot thread. Not perfect, but I think I'm done adding details. He looks so much better when he's not all red.

The Voyager by LONG shot. Voyagers nitro, hound, and scorn are also all amazing

If you don't mind me asking, how'd you modify his blaster?

 

Also Optimus, while not the best, is still pretty good. Really the only voyager that's not worth picking up is Grimlock, i ended up feeling underwhelmed after handling Scorn.

 

I carefully split it apart and flipped the joint. I then cut away excess plastic that would hinder movement and glued it back together and viola! A right handed blaster! (No longer articulated on the left arm).

 

I 100% agree! In comparison of the AoE line, TLK line excels! I love the Voyager Optimus Prime! With some work, he is a beauty!

Thanks for the explanation! I fully intend to do this to my bee. It's way better than waiting 6 more months for the movie best version just for an accurate blaster. Also I ordered me a waken. Hopefully it ships and arrives soon!

 

Dr. Wu's Waken Hammer looks much better than the Hasbro's version that comes with the Movie the Best Hammer Bumblebee. I really don't see an extra benefit of it other than the select few who prefer official Hasbro/Takara over 3rd party.

Now that the newness is starting to wear off, I'm starting to think I prefer Buster.

They're both awesome, but I presently have 11 different optimus up in my desk area. I'm really better off if they aren't both up. MPM has lots of little details I prefer, but the overall effect is a bit cluttered, Buster has a much cleaner profile. Still not sure though, especially since one of the other Primes up on display is an Asia premium version of the DOTM design (very close to the same as Buster).

 

It's kinda crazy that even with the ROTF Leaders backpack, it still beats the MP imo. Especially when you have one of the premium editions Buster, Asia Striker or that one that comes with the Allspark. Just shows how good of a design that toy was especially since it was from what 2009?

 

Something strange has happened. Now there are two Sentinel Primes!

Interesting, because I feel the complete opposite. MPM has such a clean aesthetic and such a better overall profile.
