I just noticed a very minor paint difference between TakaraTomy's and Hasbro's versions.

TakTom painted a little bit more of Prime's upper "eye lid" than Hasbro.

Great to see more and more of these going together without mods! I noticed those tabs held my TT together way better than the Hasbro, but still not perfectly. The were totally useless on my Hasbro though.

Do you have the knee lock tab in? And are you pressing down on the fifth assembly, getting those tabs locked in first?

yes, knee lock tabbed in , everything locked and legs pushed all the way to the back for it to resemble tabbing into the backplate tabs.

I want to mess with them, but LOVE this display too much to touch it...
Anyway, wanted to share. Bee's colors are edited to be more orangey, and Prime is darker and more contrasty.

Best lighting environment that most accurately represents their movie colors thus far

I edited the colors in Photoshop, the originals are still the bright Canary yellow and vibrant red and blue.

I am a graphic artist, so you know.

Either way, their colors never bothered me until I did this render, and now it drives me nuts! XD

    Stop, please.

Looking at a few more photos and videos is making me having second thoughts about the light grey now...

On the other hand my wallet doesn't look happy.

Every time the comment surfaces, I'm reminded of a scenario in a romantic comedy where a female does not want to get with a guy, and by the end of the movie they wind up marrying each other. At this point, there is no way around it: oku and MPM-4 are meant to be

For some reason I keep picturing the Emperor saying to Anakin, "Use my MPM-04, I beg you." Haha.

Well, looks like he's already super cheap on AmazonJP. I don't even wanna calculate how close to the Hasbro price he is right now. Just when I was feeling ok about my purchase, I just had to look...

Gotta say it really is a toss up between the two versions of the toy for me.

I am not quite sure which version I prefer over all when everything is considered. I end up preferring each other for different reasons depending on what I am looking for from them at the time.

the Takara comes together much nicer than any of the hasbro versions I have and has a few tweaks that are not present on the hasbro toy such as clicking tabs for the forearm pieces and revised chest tabs that actually fit in place. It also has over all tighter joints than in comparison to its hasbro brother.
It just feels like a nicer toy to handle with these quality of life changes in place, But on the other hand i think the grey is absolutely hideous unless under direct white light. It's not the color as much as it is the transparency of the plastic used, under normal lights it's looks like a light beige since it absorbs the yellow of natural lighting.

I get what the intention was in doing this plastic type, but it's a bag of mixed results on the final product.

Both Takara i have handled have also had issues with tilted heads and missing or bent thumbs out of the box which seems like a result of hrm being packaged in truck mode.

Heat can fix the warping, but you obviously can't heat a thumb in to existence. if you are purchasing a Takara version cross your fingers the person who packaged yours was more careful than the people who packaged the ones I've seen.

I won't reiterate everything I like and dislike about the hasbro toy since it's been done to death.

However, I will says as a display piece I prefer the look of it over the Takara version of the figure. As a toy and a transformer I prefer the Takara version.

At the end of the day I end up feeling far more dispointed in the Takara product. I just expect more from them.

Now that I've had the Takara version, I find the dark grey of the Hasbro version to be ugly instead. This light grey really is growing on me.
