This guy actually looks like he'll be more fun to play with than MP-10. That headsculpt and those colors look gorgeous. The gimic is quite cool too. I can not wait to play with this guy.

 

So, getting sorta back on topic. I imagine the Takara changes will possibly be chrome grill and tampographs instead of stickers. I can't imagine there will be any remolding or drastic color changes, can you?

Edit. Chrome smokestacks and blue hands on Takara edition too.

 

Blue hands for sure. I still think they will add more grey/silver to his torso and they will paint areas like the arrows on his forearm while forgoing the hydraulic stickers, for example. May also give him a white belt, so to speak, to make him more MP-10ish.

 

Chrome is more of a exclusive thing given the trend right now , I'm guessing silver paint as usual , whatever is in their budget to paint , tampographs for sure. In addition to their usual Tokyo toy show black version .

 

Anyone know what the hands and shoulders are molded with? Wonder if Takara will mold them in blue or just paint the hands blue

 

Painting is a dicey business on parts that fold in and are meant to peg with stuff. I'd be surprised if TT went that route...so I think they'll opt for blue molding. It wouldn't be the first time, I think, that they created a new sprue tray just for a particular color. Of course, that will increase the budget on the figure and drive up the cost...

 

I can do w/out the chrome grill, they can look tacky if not done properly. Definitely wish Hasbro would go with tampos instead of stickers tho.

Anyway let´s write something on-topic before I might get in trouble.

I like how OP looks from the front. I don´t like the back but I don´t care that much about it because, well, I display his front not his back. But what I realy don´t like and is a reason why most voyager and bigger figures from Titans Return I have are from the Takara Legends line are the cheap and crapy stickers that Hasbro uses. We can already see how one of the Autobot insignias is peeling off his shoulder on the pictures.

As someone who realy liked the Arms Micron line with all his sticker-glory, I have to say that I don´t like what Hasbro is doing. I would buy some of the Hasbro voyager or leader figures if we were allowed to put the stickers on the figure and not getting badly factory-applied stickers .

 

I'm not big on chrome, but from looking at the pics it seems the trailer has several hinge joints and some of it on the arms and legs could be painted red or blue since it's not visible in alt mode. Just a thought for more consistency.

Personally I think the silver and detail look sharp as is, but wouldn't mind more red and blue there for accuracy.

 

Yeah, it's one of those things I'd have to wait until I get him to make the call on how much or how little to paint him up. There's definetly some flipping there where the inside of the trailer is showing in bot mode and could be painted without affecting alt mode.

I do like that the trailer bits make him look more like a mech. I don't much mind the trailer bits showing except for the forearms. I kind of wonder if there's a way to assign that bit to another area, maybe the lower leg but that would depend a lot on if the forearms look right behind the trailer bits if unscrewed.

 

If 50$ is a shitload of money for you, you should not be buying toys like this. Because if 50 means eating bread with water for 4 weeks straight you have no business collecting toys. But let's be honest people who spend 50$ on a TF have that money to spare. Meaning they either go for like generations lines which gets you like 2 deluxes or a voyager and a legends. Or a leader class. And if you got MP you kinda got to wait a bit. You need 2x50$ for an MP Unless its the bumblebee.
Atm the MP Inferno is on sale here at a retailer for about 100$
That might seem much if your budget is 50$. But let's look at it like this. When I was a kid I got money each week a little bit. So either I waisted it on crap or candy or whatever. Or I saved it and bought the nice toy I saw in the store. Your choice.

So at the end of the day, someone who really sees 50$ as a shitload of money barely has clothes and food. Buy that first.
If 50$ is nothing to you, then go ahead buy whatever you want.
And when 50$ is your budget for the month, then you got to chose, save it and buy something like a MP or spend it on the Gen line.

So Which of these 3 is it?

My ultimate advice, do not listen to what anyone tells you on what to collect if you like this toy buy it. If you don't don't. I feel like some people have the tendency to boast and have that MP on their shelf just to tell everyone that they got it.
I am honest I have to watch my money flow. I do not have excessive amounts. But I did get myself the Hasbro Soundwave set. Because Soundwave is my all time favorite Decepticon. As well as the Takara Computron set, which has nostalgic value. The rest is added here and there some for discount and some for completion I did over time and put in spare money. I am not advising anyone to follow my example or that of others. But do know that what you collect is what you should be proud of and only you.
If you collect just to show others off you should stop.

If it's December, it'll be late December. Titans Return still has Overlord and Slugslinger to go as far as retail is concerned. Much more likely is that PotP will be part of store's Easter/Spring reset that happens in February, although there's always a few retailers that stick some out early pre-reset.

Was a big fan of masterforce since I saw it and always loved the original powermaster prime so I have both on my shelf as optimus(voyager) and ginrai who is a small optimus looking bot that becomes a super robot

 

The Hasbro stickers are one of the reasons I've been mostly going for the Takara stuff, lately. And it looks like those things are going to be on the Dinobots, too.

 

man, too many figures to buy next year. Volcanicus, Optimus Primal and now this! Dell already took my money away and now hasbro is going to put me in debt!

 

There is no budget, Takara will mold it what what ever color they need bast on what can or can't be painted.

Takara will paint whatever they what to get the look they want. See UW Sunny for an example.
