    Unboxing pics!

    MPM04_Opened (1).JPG

    MPM04_Opened (2).JPG

There were ties trying to hold the hood together. When I cut them it sprung out a bit more with noticeable force.
    MPM04_Opened (3).JPG

This was its state fresh out of the box. Whoever transformed it into vehicle mode stood no chance lol
    MPM04_Opened (4).JPG

The immediate things I noticed were this here stress mark where the front wheel arm pegs into the engine bonnet:
    MPM04_Stress.JPG

and serious cracks and stresses around the hinge of the front headlights. They're so tight I can't get them folded back for robot mode, even when I stopped caring about stressing the plastic and went all out on them.

EDIT: Forget to mention that I got lucky, his thumbs are completely intact.

    Holy. Crap.

Ok, so imagine my reaction just now when I went from bot to alt mode for the very first time (AND it's my first experience with this mold, since I never owned the ROTF figure) and THIS happened without a single hiccup at all. No tab issue, no clearance, nada. Just smooth and intuitive. (btw, Takara version)

I'm quite literally blown away. Takara does it again.

Even my dog in the background can't even believe it. lol

This is a new mold, even if you'd had the ROTF figure, it'd be your first experience.

Managed to get the headlights flipped in all the way, but man those hinges are cracked bad. There's also bad stress marks on the left window hinge. Is there any way to fix plastic stress? I'm certain that window is going to break off at some point.

Use a hairdryer to get rid of stress marks. The cracks are a different story.

    You're in Canada too, right?
    Where are you?
Where did you order yours from?

AE is really dragging out my shipment...

    @KayODave
Those stressmark and headlight flipping issue are existent in Hasbro version.
In my copy at least. As for the headlight flip, keep it flipping and it will fold eventually.
My copy's left headlight (when facing the figure) are tight at 1st and can't fold it cleanly like the right headlight.
But after transforming 4-5 times, it eventually flushed in.

I have a Question guys. About the Smokestack Flip at the bottom (attached on the wheel arm panels).
Someone posted a Takara Tomy version where the said part is flipped out all the way to accommodate catching the smokestack pegs on the sides.

Can someone made comparison pics of those parts flipped out both in TT and Hasbro version?
So that we can see where's Hasbro failed on this part. And think of a possible mod fix to fully stretched out that Smokestack Flip.
    Thanks

Dude, that is PERFECT! Thanks! I ended up popping my bluray in and pausing and fastforwarding a ton, and got a decent idea, but that is so much better.

No problem. I keep a lot of reference images so I can get the details right if I put a figure under the knife/paintbrush.

Strongly recommend the hooks if you want a alt mode that doesn't require much work .

I'm still in awe of this figure.
Man, I can't believe the amount of articulation they packed into this beast.

If you do get a stress mark, just hit with a quick flash of a lighter...it'll literally erase it.

    Just did it to mine.

Just came home to mine. Ordered from AE and it shipped on the 15th or 16th, I think.

Came with a damaged box... got worried...
    IMG_3673.JPG
Opened it, only to find a 100% MINT box and enough wiggle room to escape any damage to my $120 box.
    IMG_3674.JPG
I still can't find the Hasblow version, even checking all of the So-Cal stores 2 times per week since the first sighting, so this is my first experiance opening it. Unlike my MPM-03 luck, this one ACTUALLY is the Takara version, as per the Japaese name tag and sticker.
    IMG_3675.JPG
First inspection, not tabbed properly... of course. But HOW bas is it??
    IMG_3676.JPG
Thumbs? Got both, but one is bent. Heat and cool to fix, I presume.
    IMG_3677.JPG
As for the truck, it ALMOST tabs together...
    IMG_3678.JPG
But this side, this side is literally the ugliest toy ever.
    IMG_3679.JPG
And already a stress mark from this tab, the first time tabbing it in too.
    IMG_3680.JPG
I found what is keeping it from tabbing. Actually, it is the top-half, side/chest window piece on the left... the hinge is bent!!
    IMG_3681.JPG IMG_3682.JPG IMG_3683.JPG
You can see the right side of the truck is bend down, and it won't tab in... at all. It feels like it would all tab fine, other than that one piece.
    IMG_3684.JPG
This windscreen is popped out too.
    IMG_3685.JPG
I thought the face was in crooked, then remembered it spins. XD
    IMG_3686.JPG
AAAAAAAAAND NOW THE JETWING PRIME GOES INTO STORAGE!! Hoorah!
    IMG_3687.JPG
    Look great, perfect scale.
Same with adding Jazz to the mix, at 13ft tall, he is perfect, to Bee's chest and Primes hip guards, as he should be.
    IMG_3688.JPG

So anyway, not a perfect copy, but fixable and livable. Nice.

Yeah, same for me as well. While I should be fortunate that my copy is about 80% problem-free, it's still annoying.
