You may change your mind when you get him (or when you paint him!).

I am a massive fan of his colours and I think that all the silver Megs look like something out of Buck Rogers!

Due to the scratching and paint chipping problem of this Masterpiece. I think I'm more interested in an original G1 Megatron instead. I used to have the MP-05 Megatron, and got rid of it as it was way too flimsy and felt like it would break at any moment.

I’m not sure I’m seeing what I think I’m seeing. Or what I’m seeing.

First, sorry for bumping this thread, but I couldn't find a MP-36 Megatron thread in the Toy Discussion forum.

Now: I pulled out Megatron's flight stand for the first time in a while and I noticed that the ratchet no longer supports Megatron's weight. This could a long term effect of me not realizing that the ratchet had a locking mechanism in the very beginning, but even after that it hold him pretty well. So my question is: Do others suffer from the same issue? Is there a fix to it?

Was lucky draw a contest where winners we're drawn or some gold figures we're packaged in regular boxes and pop up in normal circulation?

I had this issue, and I was able to fix it pretty easily. (I think it involved shaving away a tiny bit of plastic.) Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what I did! I posted about it somewhere in the thread long ago. If you go searching you can find it! (I am not skilled at searching threads, but good luck to you!)

    Found it, thank you!
I might give it a try. Taking apart the stand only requires unscrewing the two screws on the head of the stand or are there any pitfalls to look out for?

Nice pics, as always! The bot mode of MT SS looks great, but the alt mode has too many failings for me, and I already have 13 copies of the MP-11 mold (including the Coneheads) and one of MP-3. I ain't goin' down that rabbit hole...

On your Masterpiece Soundwave. Do you have a problem with the tapes getting stuck when you hit the button in the back to push them forward? The tapes in mine get stuck at the door when I hit the button in the back and I have to pry the tapes out. Really a pain in the butt and ruins the figure.

Also, I always hated the Masterpiece Starscream. Really crappy colors and those stupid hip pieces and face, etc. But they've tweaked that mold over and over again and fixed the colors to where it actually looks decent now. I wish the version in your pics was the first release. As I hated the first couple of releases that I now have to wait to get a Masterpiece Starscream until they do a complete new mold like they did with Optimus Prime and Megatron.

I think I had that issue with Soundwave from the start, yes. Mine is a first release MP SOundwave, I got it second hand in 2013.

The Starscream in that picture is not Masterpiece or Takara, it's a 3rd party figure from MakeToys, called MTRM-11 Meteor (link to review and gallery in my sig).

    All the best

My Takara Soundwave is the recent 3rd release. Really makes me mad that the biggest thing is the tapes pushing to the front, and it just jams up instead.
