I'm selling my copy and the other 2 masterpiece coneheads if anyone is interested. No box but have everything else and come with KFC hands installed. PM if interested, thanks! :)

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Sorry, I got a bit of a chuckle out of that one. MP Dirge was the first of what will likely be 5 chargeback processes that I will need to do with PC.

I still like them as much as when I got them but I recently picked up the Toyworld Conheads and, honestly, I think they're all around superior figures. The scale doesn't bother me and paint, build and QC just seem significantly better.

My Takara Conheads are great examples of what they are. I just dig my new ones more :)

I just received my MP Dirge. The figure is more or less what is to be expected of the seeker mold at this point.

Mine, however, came with two defects that I had not encountered with my previous Masterpiece seekers:

    - (minor) One of the two thrusters that form the base of his feet sticks out a few mm more than the other. Not yet sure whether this makes him more unbalanced to stand, but I doubt it.
    - (medium) His left biceps/shoulder piece is a bit warped. This makes it difficult to keep is arm locked in place in jet mode. It just works thanks to the wings also locking in. In bot mode one cannot fold out the panel that his arm attaches to 90 degrees, and the whole area pushes back against the jet part so that you cannot fully lock down his upper body down into place.

I am wondering if these defects are already known? And whether they would warrant a return to BBTS.

I had to exchange my first copy of Dirge at BBTS because it had a broken hip ratchet right out of the box. But now my current one has the same issue as yours with one of the thrusters sticking out a little further than the other. It won't push in any further, but it doesn't seem to affect his stance on display. Also, this one seems less solid overall in the joints and how all the pieces fit together in jet mode than the one I returned.

So to exchange yours is a tough call as chances are good you may just be swapping one set of issues for another. The QC on these MP coneheads I'd rate somewhere between fair to horseshit.

Mine has the exact same problem with the thrusters as well. I wonder if it just needs taking off and a little bit of flash removed...

Maybe. If I felt ambitious enough to attempt a fix I might try it. But I don't.

I found another issue, that I'd like to fix but I don't know how exactly: The pin that is the axle for Dirge's shoulder piece is protruding a few millimeters (this is actually the reason that I cannot lock his upper body completely down in bot mode). I'd like to press that pin in all the way so that it is flush, but I have no clue how to do it. I tried pressing with the flat side of a screwdriver, but to no avail. Any ideas from anyone?

Nice - think I need to get more stands for these guys! Really gives them some much needed posability freedom.

Did you know you can slide his wings down his legs so the tips aren't poking his arm pits? :)

Yes, indeed. He does have a transformation around the legs that's different from all the MP-11 molds. In the instructions, there's no mentioning of pull his rear wings up. Leave it as it is. You pull them up like mine the tip of the wings get in the way. :)

Yes, there were never official released stands for the coneheads or the later released MP-11 molds.
